Vsc off trac off lights won't shut off

When I purchased the truck both the VSC OFF and TRAC VSC lights were illuminated. It didn't have a MIL on. After picking the truck up I had the MIL turn on. The codes were P0440,P0441,P0446. I reset the computer and then a couple of months down the road I would still get the code 2-7 a week. I replaced the charcoal canister two weeks ago, haven't had the MIL on again but I have problem my VSC OFF and VSC TRAC lights are on.

I did take it in to the shop and the code that pops up is zero point calibration. It was reset, as soon as the vehicle was moved they turned on again and stayed on. The battery was disconnected but it still gave the same result. What is causing this?

I'm not an old hand or anything but I read somewhere that VSC and TRAC will turn off if the o2 sensor is bad. Is that a possibility on your truck?

I think there are about 100 things that can make these two lights come on.

On a long trip I made recently I had them come on but never gave a code, always just said "pending code".
I would reset using the Ultragauge and it came back on at least 3-4 more times during the trip.
What I am pretty sure I traced it down to was the little sensor on the backing plate, I think its a anti lock brake sensor or something like that cant remember now, but its just a small pad like a pencil eraser and if it gets dirty can throw a code or in my case never actually threw a code but did cause the VSC and TRAC to light up.
Washed my car real good when we got back and its been 5 months and never came back on.

I recently replaced both the oxygen sensor and the air fuel ratio sensor. But the two sensors didn't need replacement. I did a preventative replacement. The two replacements were denso. I haven't gotten a fault code at all. The funny part is my car looks identical to yours both of them. It's a 2002 SR5 4WD with The Sport Edition Packkage in black. No lifts but plenty new things on it

zero point calibration was probably done incorrectly at the shop. its pretty easy to perform the calibration yourself.

If this is the code you're getting, ryhi is spot on. Keep in mind that ANYTHING that causes a MIL/CEL will cause the lights/systems to go off again. In my case, it was the a/f sensor then when that cleared it, my stuck thermostat caused it to come back. Just make sure all your maintenance is taken care of to keep these lights off.
