Perhaps $300 is a lot for a cheap paint job with the flares still on the truck.

While painting the flares still on the truck can be done well enough to look decent in many cases ... that is not the same thing as actually removing the flares then having a shop properly sand, prime and paint all the pieces.

IMO, no reputable body shop would paint them still on the truck and warranty the work. Proper body / paint work should be warrantied for at least 5 years.

This and also OP you can easily repair the scratches yourself using bondo or epoxy. If you found someone in the area who does good paint work out of their garage you could do all the prep work yourself and save a lotta money.

I'm going to check around Craigslist and see what I find. $300 isn't bad I guess, I just have a lot of other things I plan on doing the next few months. Lbj, uca, tie rods, finish the satoshi mod, wheels maybe. It just wasn't an expense I had planned on being so high but they'd do all the work so it's worth it
