Warm seats? Leather?

I have a new 2012 limited and I find the seat gets very warm on my back. It gets so warm I actually wonder if somehow the seat warmer is on. Here in texas it is warm but I did not seem to have this issue in my last car. Does anyone encounter this.

I live in Las Vegas and it gets as hot a hell here, in the summer my leather seats feel like the heaters are on too, just crank up the A/C and lean forward a little.
One of my biggest gripes about the LE 4R is the fact that they do not have cooled ventilated seats, my wife's Lexus has them and they are great.

My LE black leather was real warm on my back too and made me sweat.I changed out the leather on the front seats for new take off SR5 cloth covers a couple of years back and couldn't be happier.Much more comfy too as they have about a 1/2" padding on them.IMO ,the best of the 3 models.

If you want to check to see if they are actually on when you have them turned off, just pull the fuses for them. Their location is in the owners manual.

Main reason I bought an SR5 instead of LE. Seat comfort.

I think I'm the only one that finds the factory leather seats comfortable.

To make things more interesting, I feel mine don't get warm enough when the heaters are on!

Go figure.

I like the leather seats too - for some reason cloth has always seemed hotter to me. I thought they'd be too hot here in FL but have never really noticed it. I've even used the seat heater in the summer at times (feels good on the back & legs)

I have not had an issue with my leather seats being to arm on my back. Then again, I don't find the black leather seats in my convertible overbearing in 100+ degree heat. I think a lot comes down to individual comfort and tolerance. I do have the front windows of my 5th gen tinted. That might help a little in keeping the heat down on the leather. It would be nice if the leather seats had the extra 1/2 inch of padding that the cloth covers do.

Thanks I will pull the fuse. My last car had perfed leather i think it made a difference now.

Just got a set of Katzkin leather installed in my trail. I guess we will see how it goes. The 3 year / no mileage warranty is nice. Definitely love the seat heater!

I agree....but....mine get HOT when the warmer is on! If I have it anymore than 1/2 way I want to jump and and stick my :moon: in a snow bank!

Loving the Leather LE seats. My tailbone was getting so bad in the Fj cruiser I was scheduling an appt with an Orthopod. Day after I got rid of my Fj and got my LE - Pain Free.
Thank You LE seats.
As for warm, I run as Hot as anyone I know. Have not had any issues with the Leather seats.
I hope it works out for you because I think they are good Butt Gloves.

Lol, I'm right there with you! I always expect the seat heaters to get hotter. Very often I leave them on and forget I did.

I'm fine with factory leather too. But leather seats are freezing cold in winter - you'll have to spend few minutes before warmers can make seat bearable.

Seats are too hot eh?
