washboard road shocks?

My new to me 97 needs shocks since it's also missing bushing for the shocks.

I have a line on Kyb gas adjusts or OEM shocks. I plan to only drive this maybe 3000-4000 miles a year. Basically driving up to the mountains then tooling around for the weekend.

Would the KYBs or OEMs be better? I'm on a budget and these are ~30 a piece. Can't afford blistens.

I'd say OEMs if they are the same price. Bilsteins are in a class of their own. At least with OEMs, you know your truck will ride like it was designed to. No idea about the KYBs.

I have KYB gas adjusts on my '96. I don't do any serious wheeling, no lifts, no performace mods etc..I do what it sounds like you do. I use my runner to get me up into the mountains on terrible Utah washboard roads for camping/fishing excursions. I've had them on since probabaly 2007/08. During that time, I've moved to 3 different states (packing my runner to the brim with HEAVY stuff), tons of washboard dirt roads (Montana, Idaho and Utah). It is also a daily driver. I have been VERY pleased with these "budget" shocks. That said, they are now completely rusted out due to the salted roads here in Utah. They are also very tired. I will be replacing my suspension and am also trying to decide whether or not to buy these again or upgrade to something better. If I don't lift, I will probably buy these again.
