Weak Horn on 2010 4R

Put the OEM horn back on, test it to see if it sounds, check the other horns directly to the battery & see if they sound.

Possibly bad set of aftermarket horns.


The horns on my 2014 will just about deafen you if you are standing in front of the 4runner and they are blown!
They are not weak by any means.... grab a set of those!

Hey all,
I followed your advice and purchased the FIAMM pair.
I installed the two horns on the SR5 (see install pic), and the horns don't sound.
I first tested the stock wiring harness with one horn and it worked. I then spliced the wire out with a join and split Y-fashion to both horns (see wire diag image). Then neither worked. I disconnected one, and it still doesn't work.
I believe I attached the hot leads to correct terminals per horn instructions and grounded correctly.
What could be wrong?

Why did you splice the harness?

OEM horns with dual leads:

Hella Horns with factory dual leads:

You can see that the factory harness connects to the two Hella's. I did not use the relay that was provided in the kit. Not sure if they are drawing enough current off a single feed instead of the factory harness dual leads.

Because you have a Limited. SR5 has a single horn
