No experience, the ones I have seen, who knows who has made them, have been yellowed or hazed, again who know how long they had been on and what conditions they had been through.

Fifty bucks does seem expensive for two pieces of clear wrap.

That said I polished mine for the first time last summer, the tops where getting oxidized and hazed, after 6 years and outside truck. Thought I would try this, I put a ceramic sealant on, one winter and spring later, it has held up better that my other cars headlights (I did them both at the same time, I only sealed the other cars lights with Jet Seal, which held up well for ~6 months BUT those lenses were in far worse shape)
 
It's not going to do any favors to the optics. But probably works well enough. Seems expensive for a few small pieces of PPF. I put clear-bra on mine initially, but it yellows over time. PPF on white seems to last around 5 years before visibly starting to yellow a bit. I'd guess it's similar on headlights. On darker paint it would take a lot longer before you'd notice.

I had PPF on another car for 9 years before I sold it and it held up well with no discoloring. The car was a slate blue color.

Not an expert - I was told the in expensive films turn yellow. Mine was good.

I tried to install this, and ended up throwing it away. My first time trying a vinyl wrap, and I realized I was not good at cutting the edges. It takes lots of patience and practice to make it look good. It was acceptable, but I was not satisfied.
I will leave it the way it is and when I have to sand and polish it, I will try again.

If you want to break your lights constantly (at least in a state like Arizona). :)

I had a 2012 Audi TT-S that used glass for its fog light lens. Oh my god, broke three lights in the time I had the car here and actually traded it in with one of them cracked out since it cost a couple hundred bucks a light each time I needed to repair them.

That was a royal pain in the butt.
 
I couldn't get it to work

I got a gift certificate a while back and got the lampgard because it was the only thing close to $50.
I tried to be patient and read the instructions several times, but completely failed to get it on properly.
I even cut one up and tried to cover just the front... ended up throwing the whole thing away.

Look at the thing - even if you did it perfect you'd have two major seams that are supposed to be lying flat...

I just have the person that does my PPF also do my head and taillights. I've had PPF on my current car for 7 years and it still looks new - including the headlights. I also have it on my 2002RX and that also looks new.

Technically, any cover on a headlight is a violation of FMVSS 108, but I know of no jurisdiction that bothers to check and if kept clean (and changed if damaged) it is nearly impossible to tell that the film is on.
 
When I saw the dealer paint protection film didn't cover the bumper, I went to a reputable tint/film shop. He custom cut the whole front bumper, headlights, & fog lights with heavy duty 3M clear. I've had no oxidation, but it does show a few scuffs.
 
Weather tech LampGuard

Toyota Sienna headlight guard
I bought a 2016 Toyota Sienna with the weather tech lamp guard on already .

The headlight itself looks clear and scratch free under the guard . However the headlight guard is half black / looks burnt . It was like this when I bought the van in 2021. The owner doesn’t remember when it started to turn black or why and says I can remove it with some heat . I haven’t yet - which I will after this post. 


Previous owner bought everything from weather tech and all their other products held up very well - mats, visor , door handle scratch guard , bug deflector ect. The headlight guard isn’t too great - considering it’s blocking half the light at night and it’s already hard enough to see with the Sienna headlights . These are the pics of them now.

unpopular opinion

IMO- weather tech products are overpriced for what you get. at least here in Canada, a set of first and second row floor mats for the 4runner will cost $300-$400 + tax + shipping. that's ludicrous... the flat square mat that goes in the cargo area alone is $250 give or take. for what? a piece of molded plastic costing a few bucks to make??? made in USA? great - but the cost is just wtf. maybe south of the border the prices are better

not saying their products aren't good, they are, most of them, but I don't think they command such a premium. don't buy the headlight protection, save your $ and when the lights haze use a kit from sylvania to resurface and polish them. I've had good experience with that

the biggest LOL is they actually sell a billet recovery hitch... for $350. are they insane? I could buy almost 3 factor 55 recovery hitches for that price...

tldr: don't buy overpriced accessories
 
I buy precut rectangle sheets of Lamin-x and I made paper templates to cover the front of the headlights in my Tacoma. It has kept the plastic like new and I replaced it every 4 years. At 7000’ up in Colorado the UV damage is quite noticeable in a short time.
I just ordered sheets for the 4R and will make paper templates.
I have used Lamin-x for decades in my Hella euro glass headlights to keep them from getting cracked/chipped.
