Weekend of fun in the TE..

Saturday me and my son took off to the beach to test out the 4Runner. I wanted to get a feel for some of the terrain features. Leaving in Central California, getting to the beach is an easy thing. In a matter of a couple hours we were on the beach. Went to Pismo State Beach/Oceano Dunes SVRA. It was absolutely packed with a bunch of Sand Rats acting stupid.. LOL. Spent a couple hours in the sand, never got stuck.. but also didnt push my luck too much since I was solo.
Sunday me and buddy decided to try out the other feaures of the TE, we headed to Hungry Valley SVRA. Hit some easy trails.. then some more trails that required "Finesse". There are some areas where it is real easy to roll over or slam into a rock face going around the switchback. Do a youtube search for "Pronghorn Trail" in Hungry Valley. My buddy was in a Toyota Tundra with some upgraded Bilsteins.. He almost rolled it a few times. Enough of the writing... here are some of the limited pictures I took.
Saturday:

My son was pointing at a Park Ranger.. Ambulance has just passed us, someone did something stupid.. LOL

Sunday:

Going down the rock slide.. according to a buddy of mine who has done the trail in his tricked out Jeep.. we took the wrong 'line'

Made it down...

I was just at Hungry Valley a few months ago w/ my 4R and when my son was about 2 years old. For the most part, there are many options for beginners that are lots of fun. However, one can easily end up on a more advanced trail by accident. Happened to me a few times and it was definitely "white knuckle" time.
