Weight limit of slide out tray?

Does anyone know the max recommended weight capacity of the sliding cargo tray? I did search and read a couple threads mostly on folks removing these.

Not sure it would be of much benefit but I'm wondering if this can hold something like a snowblower when fully extended. I'm guessing it's for bikes, tools, smaller stuff.

300Lbs extended if memory serves me right. It's listed in the manual.

I can tell you it won't hold up to 3-4 hundred pounds for extended periods, even if you never extend it.

Mine holds an ARB fridge and recovery equipment, has been extended maybe a dozen times, and from driving offroad has bent both of the slide rails and is a rattly piece of shit. At some point I plan to source the regular SR5 model parts to get rid of it.

I put 5 3 cubic foot bags of shredded pine mulch in the back of my 4Runner last weekend. Even my wife noticed it - "What is that rattle in the back? Is something loose?" And it isn't like that's anywhere close to the weigh limit either, which really makes me wonder about that tray.

Not sure on the actual capacity but mine easily holds 3-4k rounds of ammo, and a pile of nasty, icky rifles. For outdoor shooting its actually helpful. Beyond that I never use it and could do just fine without it all together.

I slide mine out to sit on when suiting up for mountain bike ride, hikes, etc. I've been using it as a tailgate seat and love it for that. But, I only have 2000 miles. If it develops rattles, I'll have to get rid or it.

I've got 56k on Jemima and there's no rattle from the tray. Recently replaced it because of aforementioned oil and same deal no rattles.

I regularly carry 8, 10, 12 cases of water on mine, cases are 24 or 36 16oz, bottles each, 34k+ miles and so far, so good, no rattles.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm still shopping around for a certified used TE and actually test drove my first one the other day. After reading all the complaints, seeing the labor-intensive mods, then seeing the slideout for myself finally, this thing is a major bummer.

1) What complaints?

2) Labor intensive mods? They're optional....and they'd be "labor intensive" on any vehicle.

3) You'd base a decision on a new car, in any way, based on a friggin slide out try?

That tray is a cool idea, but when I played with one in the show room I was greatly skeptical of the load rating. I am not surprised from people saying it rattles and bends/bows under stress, I think it was mostly designed for carry on luggage and Costco bags.

Which is a shame since it comes standard on the trail edition with no option to remove it.
