Weight limit of slide out tray?

I've had 400 lbs on it at least 3 times (#40 bags of mulch)..and it carries a drawer system that has to be at least #150 loaded (now granted, it's secured to the metal hooks with turnbuckles, which allows little movement) every single day.....and have exactly zero complaints.

I enjoy the fact it gets the load out of the back an extra foot for you

Which is a shame since it comes standard on the trail edition with no option to remove it.

I believe there are 5th gen owners who have removed it.

I'm one of, apparently few, who actually like the slide out tray. Makes a great clean place to sit for two adults or a table when camping. I've used mine quite a bit and have no problems with it. Although I dont carry any heavy loads on it for extended periods of time, but two adults sitting on it for a few hours at full extension has caused no problems.

I like and use mine too. No rattles here and I have read most threads since 2010 and only a very few have complained. BTW I have had over 400 lbs on mine with no issues. Find another reason for not buying it.

2) Labor intensive mods? They're optional....and they'd be "labor intensive" on any vehicle.

3) You'd base a decision on a new car, in any way, based on a friggin slide out try?

1) Noise, debris getting under it and questionable usefulness. You can start with this thread and do a search.

2) I don't know what your point is here. Obviously I don't like the thing and it's a lot of work to mod/remove it. I don't have the time or desire to take on the project.

3) Of course. I'm going to use this vehicle, not just look at it. For ME, and others, it's an annoying aspect of one of the most important functional (utility) parts of the vehicle.

everyone complains about the tray.

i found a use for it. instead of putting my 11.5' stand up paddle board on the roof (for local trips), i just extend the useless tray and put the board in the back. the tray gives it the perfect amount of purchase and the board sits nicely in the back.

besides that, totally a waste
