What about a Daystar 1" front and 1.5" Rear?

:jaw drop: No jackstands????

Nope! I just held the car up with one hand a yanked the springs out with the other! HAHA.

I actually doubled up on jack stands just in case. 2 on each side. Cant be too careful and with my head under the car I would rather it not fall.

Ok Guys,
Thanks for the input. I'll try the bottle jack thing first so I don't have to disconnect anything else. If that don't work, I'll start disconnecting things.
Back to the garage. Best regards, Doug

Trying to get springs back in. Stuck

Well, I did disconnect link arm that seemed to help drop axel quite a bit. Spring is out, but putting back in with spacer is pretty darn tight. I don't feel comfortable jacking the axel down far enough to slip it back in. It seems like line running along side bottom of rig is getting tight. I am going to go borrow the spring compressor again and see if I can compress the spring, slide it in and then release it. Seems like theres plenty of room on side for compressor once I remove the bottle jack. I'll check this post once I get back in case there is any additional reco's.

Good luck Doug. I want to see this thing when it's done. Having the rear air limits my rear lift capabilities, but having the V8 keeps the front a little lower. I can adjust the sensor location and have the bags blow up a little more to give me some of the rake back. You may have given me an idea here. I'm sure my dad will thank you later, you know how he is when I get these awesome ideas. At least this one is mine and all he can do is shake his head :D

Hi Justin,
Whats your idea for your rig?
I wish I had your Dad over here, he's such a wizzard.

Well, the spring compressor I was going to use is the outside strut spring compressor. I have it, but the guy at Autozone said it was a dangerous idea. Not made to compress coil springs. The line I was worried about, I believe that is the Emergency break cable. I have the E-brake on. So, I am going to release the e-break and jack some more on the axel and see if I can get it in. Some times these experts make things sound awlful simple. Hopefully they'll refer newbies to my thread :-). Thinking it through, taking my time, visiting the forum for input. I'll get it. Checking post freqently. Best regards, Doug

Hang in there, you'll get it. I never did any suspension work before either, and I pulled it off.

Just think, you'll be the expert by the time you're done. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Ok, drive side is in. I DID NOT USE SPRING COMPRESSOR. I took axel to point of brake lines being tight at center line bracket, wifey on the bottle jack :-). Put the spring assembly in at an angle, then pry bar between spring and axel and it went into place. Wow, that was nerve racking. Now to the passenger side. I just have to remember what I did lol. Hopefully the track bar bolt won't be a pain, or I'll have to do the strap trick. Back to the garage, I beleive I am about to get it. Thanks for all the responses on and off-line, I really appreciate it. Special thanks to Kai, Ryan, A_S_R. Best regards, Doug

good deal...the second side is way easier to do. The track bar was a pain for me. I had to do the strap trick...I had to come up with it myself (never saw that post :ybrick:) like others have said you will love it!!!:D

:reddance:
Alright, passenger side went in w/o the wifey's help. Shocks and link bars tightened. Now I just have to adjust some jacks to see if I can get that damn pan hard bar bolt lined up. I want to see it on the groung tonight.

Pan Hard Bar Alignment?

I am not getting much movement out of the strap trick. The thread shows the shocks disconnected. Should I have connected this pan hard bar and tried the strap without the shocks and link bars connected? Best regards, Doug

I didn't remove the pan hard bolt but I would think you would get a little more play with the bar if the shocks were not connected. When in doubt get it lined up and use a rubber mallet to ease it in. I had to do that with the shocks.

Done

Chris,
I got within about 3mm (1/8) of aligning, finally cut me a 2x4 just the right length to go between garage foundation wall and bottle jack hitting center of spindle. A couple turns by hand and went right in. Ok, wheels on and everything tightened. I'll leave it on jack stands overnight. A buddy is coming over tomorrow to help me wire some hologen back-up lights. Then to the shop for alignment. Wow, that was a chore. Been there, done it, now I just have to get the tee shirt lol.
I may have to have a tee shirt made up that says "I did my own T4R lift!"

Back-up lights tomorrow and the heavy lifting should be done for awhile. I'll post a write up and pics tomorrow. Forgot to get a pic of the 2x4 against the garage wall, it was pricelss :-)

Thanks again to everyone for your patience and kindness.

HA!! That's awesome! Good thing your wife wasn't helping you at that point. My fiance just gives me that "look" when I have ideas like that. But 60% of the time it works all the time........Good job on the lift and good luck on the lights. I'll be looking for pics when you get a chance.

Glad you got it back together!!! It was a pain to get the panhard bar it back.

From reading this I think I will get my shop to do the rear spacers.
However, I am actually fine with how it sits w/o the rear spacers now.
Is there a way to adjust the headlights down? I think I am blinding everyone after the front spacers went in
