What are folks paying for the Trail?

Ah, I was just going by the Toyota.com website. I did check the gulf states inventory also and everyone has the KDSS Nav combo only. It's weird how each region can only get certain combos when the 4runners are all built in the same place.

The website only lets you build what you can commonly find on your local lots. You can factory order any combination of options.

Luckily, what I'm ordering is a common build for my region, so there is a decent chance I'll be able to get mine in earlier than 60~90 days.

here in Canada, sticker on the Trail is $44,000+

I did a build & price on Toyota.ca yesterday and the final price was a tad over $50K with options.

4 runner trail

just bought black 2010 4runner TE with 14k miles- with nav and back-up camera [not sure about KDSS because I bought it from a dealer in TX and they're shipping it] for $31900
will update when I get it.

I would never pay that much just to have kdss

I bought a 2011 sr5 pearl white with running boards and 3rd row seat for $33,975 out the door.... So that means it was 31.8k before taxes fees and registration...Sticker price was over $35k... That was back in october 2010... Bet I could do better now

Pointless post :50cal:

well pointless post relative to the OPs question on TE prices, but who cares its a THREAD FROM THE DEAD

Yet still relevant.

Anywho, I've got a line on a new 2011 Salsa Red with KDSS, convenience package and running boards and floor mats for $35992

2011's are $35,500 all day with KDSS and no-NAV. Toyota is realizing they have a problem and aren't getting sales like they expected. A lot of folks aren't turning in their leases on 2008's as Toyota expected and switching out to 2011's because they prefer the Torsen and/or V8's.

I spoke to one dealer here that says Toyota is so set on forcing leases to try to generate repeat buyers that they are only offering lease incentives and not cash incentives of any sort on most books and requiring them to be financed through Toyota Financial for them to even work with you on price. They are getting desperate due to some bad logistical decisions by Toyota on what to do when designing the Trail. The thing has essentially the same stuff as an FJ with the exception of real doors. Other than that they share an engine, a frame, the drivetrain (except the fancy crawl control and the dials). But they are about the same, and you can find an FJ that is just as capable on the dealer lot for $29,000. The Trail Edition is 6-8 thousand more dollars without the option for full time 4x4 (Torsen) the V8 and the interior quality has been changed to FJ standards (lots of plastic). I've owned multiples of both vehicles and the 4Runner appeals to me because it has 4 doors. Other than that, I don't think it's worth an extra 6-8 grand for the doors. The current FJ I have competes with the 4R Trail almost identically in behavior offroad.

My old 4Runner (2007) is better than either of them for everyday driving, towing, driving up into the hills, and smoothness. It also feels MUCH safer on the freeway. This is a dead thread... as they say... so don't let the pricing fool you. The demand wasn't there for 2011 Trails and they are still on the dealer lots, but they are getting directives from Toyota to be very sticky on price as they depreciate on the lot a bit more everyday. They want to wait it out until somebody leases the thing, so they come back and get another 4Runner with the options people want in 3 years and keep you trapped in a series of short term loans. I guess it works for their business, but Nissan tried this same method when they flooded the market with leased Altimas and it nearly led to their bankruptcy. It's better to get repeat buyers coming in and paying cash and making good trade ins every few years than making people feel "trapped" to your company because you're stuck in leases. Honda went through this too and has finally moved away from it a bit and regained some brand loyalty. I think it wreaks of desperation, and there is no bigger Toyota fan than myself. I've had 4 of them over the past 5 years and loved them all in their own way.

Could not agree more. The biggest market for automobiles in thw world is right here in NJ and I don't see 4 Runners of the 5 th gen on the road ANYWHERE at any trim level.

Sadly, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the T4R as we know it is no longer produced after 2013. A tiny niche market that this truck supports will not be able to sway the bean counters at Toyota from lopping it off. If it survives, it will go the way of the Pathfinder. That will be the ONLY way it survives.

A couple states away, a whole different situation here. I see a LOT of the new 4R's on the road. As much or more so than the 4ths! The other day at the post office there were 3 of us.....in a town of a few thousand, and not a single 4th. I have received nothing but + comments on mine. The ONLY downfall is the missing v8 in the 5th, and I know people are hesitating because of that, I almost did.

I'm curiour what people have been paying for TE's lately? I'm thinking about trading in my '11 Tacoma for one.
Thanks!

I just picked up a 2010 trail KDSS and NAV. with 29K miles. It also had TRD intake. and 5 Bridgestone revos 285/70 for 34400 OTD.
I went from a Montero limited and love this truck. Only thing i miss from the Montero are the seats and option of AWD. Aftermarket support was non existant for the Montero.

I'm in Alberta, got a quote for 45k OTD. Includes bug deflector, tonneau cover in the back and cargo liner, loaded except NAV.

where are 2011's going for 35,500??

cheapest i'm getting quotes for is 36,1xx and thats going to utah. i offered 35.5 and they said no. it does however have a 1k rebate.

if anyone has some leads to 2011 non nav trails let me know!

trail price

I used USAA car buying service and got a 12 trail with entune and rubber mats for 36.1K in New Jersey, dealer had 4 trails on the lot to choose from.

Paid $35,017 out the door for my '11 TE last year. Non-KDSS, non-Nav. Was advertised for $32,900 but I wanted that special coating which added another $1,000. Purchased from gaulttoyota.com in Endicott, NY.
