What are the top speeds while being in 4HI and 4Lo?

It's not extreme low range it's only about 3:1 (2.88 I think but I'm too drunk to look it up.)

So if you can be in 4th and doing 60mph in 4Hi or 2Hi, you can be in 4th in 4Lo doing 20mph.

You could do about 55mph at red line in 4th gear, in low range.

There are not speed limits...It won't hurt anything to go as fast as the truck can go... The front diff might heat up a bit at high speed 75+ as that ring and pinion are probably no really meshed to those speeds yet. If you do it often.. it will loosen up... but then again why unless you are racing in the desert or something...

I use 4LO a lot and I generally shift the tranny into manual mode. In that mode you can use ALL FIVE GEARS. Very handy in steep mountainous country - No need for using brakes.

I always use the manual mode but it never shifts into 5th on my Limited in LO. My 4th gen V8 was the same way.

Because the speed limit on I-295 is 70 and I'm getting in my
10 miles per month of 4wd - at least until I get it to the beach. And 70 will get you run over some days. Actually, I can get in 2 miles at a time on the 2-lane to my girlfriend's house. That's a 55 zone if you don't get run over by somebody pulling a big bass boat to the landing.

I wanted to know same thing. Only time i would drive that fast in 4HI is to get my 10 miles per month. Drove 55, didn't have any problems.
