This thread doesn't make me feel bad for buying a quality blue point oil filter wrench off the snap on truck for $30

04152-YZZA5s for $3 though? That's about half the price I paid last time!
Out of curiosity, what is the oil change interval your dealership recommends yo change the oil at? Local dealerships around here all recommend oil cages at 5K miles instead of the 10K Toyota interval. Just wondering if your dealership would push the 10K OIC will free changes.:
I just got robbed at 225 and that was the estimate !!! Wow!! This is the first time I ever did an oil change at the dealer probably the last

Bought a case of 5 toyota oil filters on amazon for 25 bucks, local dealer has them for 4.97 each no limit. Toyota synthetic 0w-20 is 6.75 a quart at my local dealer so I grab 7. I asked to buy the crush washers and the parts guy just gave me a giant handful for free that should last 15 oil changes.
All in all I probably save 10 bucks doing it myself, but I know it's done correctly and I always reapply anti seize to my skid plate bolts and torque everything to factory specs. Discount Tire does my rotations for free every 5,000 and I change my oil every 5,000 as well as I don't trust the 10,000 intervals.
I'm paying about 40 bucks for Mobil 1 and OEM filter.
Changed in my back yard.
