What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Installed Baja Design WC Amber Fogs, and Extreme LED Pro Low Beams. Super Happy with the install and looks.

Gave my 4Runner a bath to get all the pollen off so I can see the full extent of hail damage for a couple of nights ago. :( I left it at the Colorado Springs airport while I was on a business trip when the area was hit with the worst overnight hail storm in 23 years. Thankfully, the airport was not on the worst hit areas, but I still received a lot of very slight depressions that gnaws at the OCD in me.

Enjoy your new lights OstaraHTX - thank you for taking the time to post up a pic and feedback! I also want a pic of the other truck in the driveway :)

Spent $20 on Vinyl to blackout my rails and convinced by neighbour to swap his black end caps for my silver. Just waiting for him to get home.

I got together with my dad and did some work to my '17 ORP. We installed the Pro Comp 3" front, 2" rear spacer lift with differential drop, ICON UCAs with Delta Joint, and the TRD skid plate. I have KDSS so the front sway bar was an "adventure" for the lift and for skid modifications. My dad has been turning wrenches for 50+ plus years and wanted to pull it all out. HAHA! In his old school mind, no offroad vehicle needs a system like that.

I followed up by throwing on some KO2 285s in load range C. He had something to say about that as well! Getting her aligned right now and can't wait to cruise around after. Really a great truck that's fun to work on and drive.

Clean truck! Curious what dad had to say about the C Load 285's considering I am close to purchasing them?

Crossed into BC.Canada to explore some backcountry. Now to get it in 4wd!

We spent a few days on the Rubicon... literally. Long story short, we broke right off the bat and spent the next few days fighting to get it up and running. It sucked and was awesome all at the same time, if that makes sense. I think I’m going to have to write a detailed story on my thread.

Same argument a lot guys on the forum have... Load range C tires don't have enough plies for offroading. I'm not planning on hitting Moab or anything that crazy so the Cs are perfect for a truck driven on highways and around town 90% of the time.

In case you're wondering, they balanced well and ride quiet. I'm very happy with the upgrade.

The ARB and Viair are rated for up to 150psi, so I wanted to be just above that and 175psi seemed to be the next step up in general.

Honest question, but what makes the check valve unnecessary? I thought it was to prevent backflow of air pressure from the tank to the compressor. Is it not needed in a setup like this??

I think the ARB cutout switches are much lower...

https://www.northridge4x4.com/part/compressor-mounts-accessories/co35-arb-compressor-pressure-swtich

I have an aluminum tank, not in the truck, but I think it's only rated up to 160.

I mean it probably will never matter but if something is going wrong adn my system runs at about 100psi, I want to know about a failure before 175.

---
Check valve --- honestly, I'm not sure. I'm trying to figure why it makes a difference. I guess it could be helpful if you compressor is off but there will still be pressure in the compressor until it's released.

IOW, look at this. I connect a hose to my outlet. Pump up my tires. Turn off my Compressor. The system is still under pressure. Now let's say the end of my hose had a check valve. The comp doesn't know that.

So if your tank has a check valve how will the comp ever know, unless you can release pressure between the tank and comp.... which you could at the hose connector if you wanted.

It might be a good idea. Are you going to keep a 1gal tank filled? It's only going to take a couple seconds to fill it. By the time you run the comp and hook up hoses or whatever, I would think the tank would be full.

You're lucky. I just wrapped mine and now have to paint my silvers. Sanded them, prepped them, plastidipped them.... didn't like that at all.

Bought some engine satin black and changed my mind on that because I was afraid it was not durable enough. . Just ordered a can of 2k Satin Black off Amazon.

I would loved to have traded someone.

ETA: I had to take my rails off to wrap them and when I did, I noticed that two of those sealing washers were defective. they have a metal center washer and then a small rubber grommet type deal that had split/torn all the way around. Just a heads up for anyone that may be removing those bolts.

Mine all looked good. Thanks for the heads up though. Way better in black.

NEED MORE INFO!!

Just came from a Ram 2500, 6.2L, 4x4..previous Jeep guy rockcrawler builder. I want to take my new to me '16 TP through the Con.

Is Cromo an option yet for these? Steering linkage upgrades? I miss Birfields, Marlin, Atlas, Dana 300, Dana 60's...

By the way, I know exactly how fun it is to be in a bad situation and get things right again.

Finally did a couple things I’ve been meaning to today.
1) Removed the running boards. Definitely looks a lot better, and looks like clearance will be greatly improved. I’m sure my wife and son will complain tomorrow... They liked the step. I will get sliders with a step eventually...
2) ARB Diff Breather Mod. This was kind of a big one for me. Bought the kit a while ago and watched a couple videos several times... Finally got up the nerve to do it. Felt really good!

Oh boy. By removing your running boards you violated the wisdom of “Happy wife = happy life”.
Let us know how that went. :bash:
