I installed the [MENTION=87816]Baja Designs[/MENTION] Squadron-R Pro amber wide fog light kit today. I got them through the [MENTION=120150]TotalAutomotiveLV[/MENTION] group buy. Thanks guys, these things are crazy bright!!! I'll adjust them when it gets darker. I should have marked the height of the OEM fogs on cardboard to know how low to adjust them...

Here they are with the stock high beams, [MENTION=12905]XenonDepot[/MENTION] HID low beam kit, and the OPT7 32" LED light bar on the Yakima LoadWarrior.

It's actually nicer than I thought, no logos and the rungs are more horizontal than I've seen in other pictures.
Need to get some AT hardware and put some non-slip tape on the rungs.

Really like that ladder! who makes it?? And it fits Baja racks I see

[MENTION=135421]Ohio_Steve[/MENTION] not directed specifically at you but since you did a great job and documented this with pictures I want use your post to caution those looking to do this mod and have not thought of all the ramifications this mod will bring.
With respect to fog lights:
Too bright or too high will render them ineffective. True fog lights by design are fairly dim and aimed low as to A) Low aiming keeps them "below" the fog and B) Low output to keep the light from reflecting off the fog.

By doing this mod you have effectively deleted any true fog light function and replaced it with additional driving lights.

They look great and are really bright but they will be less effective than the stock fog lights in fog or heavy snow!

We get lots of fog (and heavy snow) in my region and there have been many times that I could only see the road a few feet ahead, and it wasn't because I needed more light! The OEM fog lights effectively illuminated the bit of road "under" the fog (1-2 feet AGL) and no amount of increased light would have made the situation any better. In heavy fog you are only driving at low speed anyway. Heck, even the Sun won't cut through fog!

Anyone who thinks this will improve visibility in the fog. It won't. Next time you are in heavy fog or heavy snow hit your high beams... you will quickly go back to your low beams and wish for something with even less of light output.
Now, the independent switch for fog light only is a good mod and needed in certain situations.

Not likely. I have posted my opinion before, but here's a recap: off road lights even "fog replacements" are a discretionary item to run on the road. Unless you have DOT legal LED lights. I treat my light bar like my high beams. If I'm on the road by myself and I need more light, I light it up. As soon as another car approaches, it gets turned off until they pass, then back on if I still need it. I have a feeling that these fog replacements would have the same discretionary use. Unless you're off road, then all bets are off. Unleash the lumens!!!

I agree with this.

However, I submit to you that the "Fog light" in the 5th gen are not engineered to be true "fog" supplementary lighting... I consider them closer to a driving light than anything. Even in stock form, they are aimed quite high and have a rather high lumen output.
