Drove down to Calgary for the grand opening at The Gear Shop. Had a great time checking out everyone's rigs, and snapped a ton of pics of ideas to steal for my own rig, hah. To top it off, I won a set of All-Pro Offroad sliders in the raffle! They don't make 5th Gen sliders yet, but Jon from All-Pro took a few measurements and promised he'd fab something up for me....now THAT is customer service!!

Wash job today. Went up to California Gulch (N/E of Silverton) yesterday and got a little muddy. Sorry no pix. Note to self - take the camera, because when iPhone is full it won't take any more pix.

how did they balance? I've heard stories about the MT/R being hell on the balancer

We do actually get a couple months a year without it. They're the same months we get the midnight sunSeems strange to me seeing your post and not seeing snow
Spidertrax are still on and I've got some crazy poke going on. Had to cut both body mounts back further, hammer the pinch welds, cut a bunch of plastic, and have the caster set as far forward as possible. I'm going to see how it does on the trail tomorrow before deciding whether or not to keep the spacers on.
Actually they balanced pretty easy. One took a fair amount of weight, but I took a drive on the highway and there wasn't anything that felt off about it.

You're just getting all kinds of goodies here lately! ARB, SCS, MT/Rs. Did you swap out your OW kit for Icon as well?
Oh and it looks about time for a little touch up paint on the sliders haha. Rig is looking awesome as always.

The long-awaited Shrockworks slider install
After the long, long wait (18 weeks), of course I had to go out of town on business and couldnt install the &%$#! things until today.
A little disappointed that right out of the unopened box, each rail has a pretty good gouge in it. No damage to the box, spray-foam packaging intact, and its been sitting safely in the garage the whole time. Will give them a call tomorrow, but there was rust forming where the powder coat was down to bare metal, so it didnt happen here.
Nonetheless, build quality is excellent. I see great welds on a daily basis, and these are top notch. Like the design. Fit was really good....did have to apply a little floor jack love to the angled piece on the passenger side. Anyone who has installed these probably has done the same. Even the gas-tank strap issue was really a non-issue. The stick nuts are a little awkward, but after grinding off a few square edges to slip through frame holes, and removing one plastic cap for access, plus if you can think in 3 dimensions to line them up, the install wasnt too bad. I would recommend running a tap through the stick nut threads in advance to make engagement much easier. So, damage issue aside for now, well done and executed.
With lots of talking and pointing, and a lunch break, maybe 3 hours start to finish. Helps to have a mechanically-inclined brother, and a farmer friend with a great shop and every tool on the planet. Farmers just flat out rock..... [if you ate today, thank a farmer]....even if they look like some cross-breeding of Larry the Cable Guy for a dad and an Amish mom. :biggrin2:

Yup, I only had the OW 2.0 kit and there's no way it would've held up the weight of the skids, sliders, bumper, and winch.
Believe me, I know. If we'd get two days in a row without rain I'd do it, but not having a garage puts me at the mercy of the weather.
