Hello, it wasn't today it was Sunday and Monday !
I went over to the States this week-end with the family. From Montreal to Albany NY.
It was fun, we like going to the States, this time we tried Albany since we always go to Plattsburgh. Only problem was the heat and moisture, man did I sweat just walking with the stroller and the kids.
I also checked the MPG while I was there since gas is dirt cheap compared to Montreal. I did an average 20mpg from Albany to Mooers ( that's a small town near the border ) about 180 Miles. Truck fully loaded with 1 baby, 1 small child and my niece.
All that driving between 70 and 80 mph in the mountains.
I also tried doing the sport shift in 4th on hills. Thanks to that post somewhere someone said they tried that to get better torque out of the truck and let me tell you it works amazingly, even fully loaded the mpg stayed steady.

Tried to have a proper alignment done after biting the bullet in these LR UCAs. I took it to a shop and asked them for an oil change, tire rotation and an alignment. I have them them the while spiel about the adjustable UCAs and to set me up with 4+ caster. I was a little worried as I was getting a glassy eyed yes nod. Anyway, dropped the truck off at 10am. Drove back by the shop at 11:30am and saw my truck on the lift. Went and picked up some new running shoes...an hour later, stopped by the shop on my way home hoping my truck would be done. Nope...only completed the oil change. The guy proceeded to tell me that they hadn't done the tire rotation yet because they couldn't figure out how to get the spline lugs off. Really? Shops don't have the adapters? If they just would have called, I could have told him my adapter was in the stock location on the back left panel. So I went home awaiting the call. 5pm rolls around and still nothing. I called to get the status as they close at 6pm. He said, oh yeah, we are done but we couldn't do the alignment. OK? He said their alignment machine was old and it would scratch my wheels. Really..? They couldn't have mentioned that 7 hours earlier? After dropping my truck off for 7 hours, I got an oil change and a tire rotation! Geez! Sorry...that turned into a long story...

Well last week camping with the "Man"...we talked about adding some lighting to bottom handles on the rear liftgate.
I found these bulbs at Home depot for $10 a pop...pretty resonable for 170 lumens.
Then I added wire leads, and JB welded them to the fixture, and added some heat shrink...then they got painted black to blend in
Then they got siliconed to the handles, and brought the wire through. I tapped into the existing hatch lights( I had already installed LED pods in there, so I just tapped into the wiring harness for the base of them)
I was pretty happy about two things...first, the "old school" kelvan color of these lights was a welcome break from the white LED's..and I liked it alot! It throws a real nice pattern behind the truck. (I didn't glue them flat to back of the handles...I tilted them a bit so they shine down a bit)..and two...I got this mod done before Antman...so yea..it's a little sloppy, but it works.
