What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Not much, maybe prevent some chaffing on the strap, maybe. You can also get the same thing without the bling for a fraction of the price elsewhere.
I would ditch that locking hitch pin, those things are brittle and break easily. I broke 2 different ones by hitting my hitch on dirt ground in my Tacoma, and had to remove one with a small hammer; only took one light hit.

I agree with the fraction of the price part. You can get the same job done at half the price. But I want to have something that makes me turn around and look when I walk away from the truck.

The locking pin on there right now is from my bike rack. This is on the way:

The shackle looks good, I have been thinking of getting one. Is there an advantage to just using the hitch pin through the loop on a strap?

A hitch pin would probably work fine in a pinch, but you have to consider that you are loading it in a way that it was not intended to be loaded, so you might end up bending it...and like jeremy mentioned you also have the potential for chaffing the strap. If possible I would get a hitch mounted shackle attachment just to be safe.

Ran out of change at the car wash. I was midway through the rinse when it shut off. There's nothing like driving home with 40% of your truck covered in soap....:tsk:

Haha...same thing happened to me! Luckily the place I was at had one of those no touch drive through washes. I just paid the $5 on a credit card for the basic wash to get all the soap off.

Ya, unfortunately this was pretty much downtown Houston TX, and to top it off, I left my wallet at the house. It was awesome....hwell:

Also washed the 4R today but they have these hand wash places in California that do a solid job for $10 so I avoid the change issue

On a different note, also took the 4R to the REI in Dublin for the garage sale and got a sweet practically new pack and trekking poles for super cheap (almost ready to start heading to the mountains on weekends). Saw two other stock 5th Gen SR5s in the parking lot with roof racks but doubt they are on the forum, one was silver and one was mag grey and then my black one.

Actually they had a couple of the shorter wide Yakima ones for around $100. Should have swung by lol. I'm in Dublin regularly for errands, I'll keep an eye out for you. I'm the only black SR5 with a Satoshi mod that I've seen in the area.

Somehow managed to destroy one of my mud flaps on the trails last night. So, I cut them off this morning. :mmph: I had removed the front a while back. I also turned one of my rear facing LED's outboard.

I've been debating between wheel spacers($200) or new wheels (Gauntlets $600).

I like how the spacers look on your truck....hmm.....(now I just need to stop being a cheapa$$ and actually order them!)

Mountain Loop Highway

Did the Mountain Loop Highway, through the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest in WA State, about 1hour north of Seattle.

It is a fantastic drive if you're ever in the area. A bunch of Forest Service Roads, and Hikes, even an Ice Caves. Winter is coming, so hopefully I can make it back out that way before most of the roads start to close (those that are not closed due to your government shutdown). ALL camping sites are closed, at least the ones I saw.

Just an all around great day drive. Can't wait to go back, hopefully next week.
