My TE has informed me it is extremely tired of driving in the deep snow and cold. It wants to move to a warmer climate and drive on the sand. I am listening.

Florida has all that but even at your age you are a bit young to move there. Besides the mountain biking sucks.

Actually they are taking care of me good. Got some new wheels overnighted after the manufacturer of the ones I wanted screwed me over, should have new wheels and tires on Thursday (Fingers crossed)

Other parts ordered but are either made to order, over size or backordered. Will be like random christmasses over the next couple months as stuff comes in

Icon wants 19.95 for each spherical bearing and 1.58 for each snap ring. The bearings are a standard RK bearing that you can get all day long, anywhere else for $4-$5. The snap rings are also probably a standard item you can find for 1/10th the price, but I'm not sure what that style of snap ring is called. It doesn't use snap ring pliers, it is a piece of spring steel, with about 2-3 overlapping layers, similar to a key ring. You can see 1 new one in that second to last picture.

Does anyone know what the star shaped bolt head on the Icon top shock mount is called? I forgot about this damn thing, and wasn't able to replace my upper bearings because none of my sockets or spline drives would fit on it.

Ah, if that's the case, 12pt sockets are pretty common in tool sets, you should be able to pick the right one up at your local tool store/sears.

Looks like a 12 point bolt and the snap ring is a "Spiral" ring.

I don't think its a normal 12 point socket, none of the metric or sae 12 point sockets I have would fit.

The only other one I know of then is a external spline drive.

Not today, but haven't had time to upload the photos.

The first 2 pictures are of me and my 4Runner stuck on the side of US 2-Stevens Pass when my alternator broke a few weeks ago. Me on the phone with Toyota Roadside Assistance; no snow on the ground or trees. In the time it took a tow truck to get to us, nearly two inches of snow had fallen. Not often you drive and see a 4Runner on the side of the road with its hood up.

And the last two are of one of the most perfect days of snowboarding I've had in my life. Stevens pass got 10feet of snow in 10days, this picture is of day 11... Nothing but powder and sunshine. Though cloudy in the photos the clouds quickly gave way to the sun. My friends that got stranded on US 2 in my 4Runner are the guys in the photo. Pictures are of the front side of the mountain, I wish I'd of taken some of the back side runs.

Changed my air filter, the new one is the one on the left. I have to say the old one was not too bad and had been in there a year.
My cabin filter was dirtier than my engine filter.

Well, the 4runner has been nothing but a pavement pounder here lately. Today was an exception. I was able to get off the beaten path for a little while and get her dirty. This truck never ceases to amaze me at its capabilities. I did however bang the hell out of my hitch several times.

TE fender flare scrap

I managed to do something I never planed on doing-scraping my fender flare on the garage wall. The corner of the cinder block wall gouged the flare. What's the best thing to mask the damage?? Or should I replace the flares and not worry about the possible fade of the other 3....
