Both of these posts point out the use of U BOLTS..
Maybe I didn't explain myself clearly, from what I understand there is something in addition to the U-bolts, is that not correct?
What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Thanks. I have them I just have to put a drop for the radiator brackets because they are rubbing with the sway bar. I didn't feel like bolting on the skid plates so I can take them off a week later.

Yes one bolt on each side directly the frame, and then the bracket extends downwards and is sammiched between the extruded aluminum support beam too.

Is there a difference in Version 1 of BB Hidden winch plate and Version 2 of BB Hidden winch plate. In regards to the mounts. Or anything for that matter.
From what I know, is, he added light mounts. Thats just from what I know.
I dont think the way it mounts was changed but I can't confirm.

Yep, [MENTION=6163]phillyd2[/MENTION]'s pics are the best out there. There are two bolts on the frame, and the u-bolts on the aluminum bumper securing the winch. Some friends of mine who are mechanics expressed concern regarding the strength of the system. They pointed out the fact that putting so much tension on the aluminum bumper, which is not designed to resist outward force, and was actually designed to fail/ crush under a certain amount of force, might be a bad idea.
The guys at the body shop I went to happen to be off-roaders and fabricators as well. They told me they took a good look at the system and they think it's plenty strong. They also (thankfully) said my fix of the bumper extensions with welded bolts from Home depot was plenty good as well. They were also able to get the bumper to fit better over the plate and roller by flipping the roller around 180-degrees. He pointed out to me that by doing that the rollers are a bit lower and that would help distribute force more evenly.
He basically told me, that if I was going to use it for occasional self-recovery that I would be fine. He told me if "I was planning to try and pull out stumps or winch my truck over rocks" he'd recommend a steel bumper. Makes sense to me.

Looks Awesome! I'm running the MT KM2's as well. I highly recommend getting the inner two rows of lugs siped. Really helps with street traction especially when wet. It will help some on ice/snow as well.

while not exactly in my 4R.. I received my jetfoil flash in the mail today!

started my sPOD install in lower part of the center console stack.
first dremeled the back of the cubby:
installed sPOD contura switch panel:
test fitted panel in the 4R. unfortunately the top of switches was visible:
borrowed a solution from Equipt's Paul May 4Runner build & whittled some plastic to make a cover:
next day off I'll mount the source box & finish it up.

Got the dealership to turn off my seat-belt chime. It was really working my nerves.. Hey vehicle, I know you are trying to save my life but I don't need your reminders everyday.
The service tech said he couldn't get it done but the service manager overheard our conversation and stepped in, even asked what other options I would like them to change. :thumb:
