Today I drove down to San Diego to take my Ham Radio technician test. Aced it! So now (er well in a week or two when the FCC actually assigns me a number) I can legally use the 2 meter radio I bought last weekend

Picked my new Trail Premium up last Weds. Friday, installed 3M clear bra, 20% 3M window tint on front windows, and 3M matte black vinyl to the lower front bumper and center grill bar. Still trying to decide if I want to black out the emblem. I kind like the look of it now. I still need to wrap the center silver section on the rear bumper. The 20% tint on the front windows is slightly darker than the rear privacy glass, so I'll probably go ahead and overlap the rear windows with 50%. Before and after pics:

Spent the Day with the family at Redondo, beautiful city!

Wash, Clay, Buff, Wax. Still trying to decide on the grill inserts. I removed the pillar chrome pieces. They were hideous.

Had the gf drive me to ocean city after I got out from the hospital from getting my appendix taken out
It's always good to leave the hospital.
One of those places you only want to visit.

Took my wife out for her birthday today. When we left the house the mileage on the odometer was 8,980. When we left the restaurant and were approaching our neighborhood, this is what the odo looked like...
So I drove a couple more feet and stopped just so I could snap this shot...

How much did it cost to black out the front end? I'm thinking about doing it too.

Winthrop Rhythm and Blues Festival
Hitched up the old Thumper last Friday morning and headed up into the Cascade Mountains of Washington - specifically the 27th annual Winthrop Rhythm and Blues Festival. Made the usual coffee and viewpoint stops, watched the tranny fluid get too hot, and finally set up camp at the "Blues Ranch" in the beautiful Methow Valley. Some great bands Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday. Most notable perhaps was the inimitable Charlie Musselwhite, and of course the Pacific Northwest's own Polly O'keary playing the bass guitar as only she can do it. Sad to think that the recently departed Johnny Winter played here just last year.

Which tranny temp are you monitoring with your Scanguage? There are 2 codes available: One at the torque converter, which rises and files rapidly, and one at the transmission pan, which gives a more accurate reading of the overall fluid temp.
I always have the pan temp displayed and display the torque converter values only when towing.
Here are the codes:

This wasn't yesterday but Sunday. I fought with the sun to get a good waxing done before fall. I ended up breaking out the tent and it worked awesome. Ordered my plasti dip from dipmycar over the weekend so I'm looking forward to getting that done in the next couple weekends.

Great idea. It gets so hot here I've been known to wash, clay bar, and wax mine inside our garage. With a large blow fan it's not so bad. When we built this house in 2004, I painted the inside walls of the garage with exterior paint just so I could wash it inside.:nod:
