Installed these bad boys today. I was having a problem with the swaybar making contact with one of the support arms on the front bumper after installing the relocation bracket. I'm guessing the arm got bent last time I went to the sand dunes. So I just took the front sway bar off...problem solved :)

Mine did the same thing, though im not willing to remove it. Already had a freeway close call that very well could have ended very badly had id not been there. Im going to try extending the links. If that doesn't eork maybe temoving the brackets or making newones will.

Yeah it drives like a trophy truck without the front sway bar. Very smooth but a lot of lean. I'm going to try it out for a week, if it's too much I will probably end up just bending that support arm a little and try again.

Consider Warthog's "Close Call" for a good while if you do any driving above 50MPH or so. No swaybar can mean the difference between life and death in some cases - and you'll never expect to make that evasive maneuver - NEVER! But it does happen...

Took advantage of the extremely mild weather to wash the truck. I am absolutely in love with my new Black Rhino wheels and the General Grabber AT2's! Off to Seattle and Vancouver for work for 10 days and when I get home there should be a Magnaflow side exit exhaust and a K&N CAI system waiting in the garage for me!

What tires size are those?

This is what some of the other guys did when they first did there lift. harper7 was one of the first ones to let everyone know about this spacer between the radiator brackets. I couldn't find his original post so here's one that is similiar. Hope this helps you guys out. CrazyNorwegian keep that front sway bar on if you do more pavement driving than offroad.

I was going to say, 10 years, your just about due for a renewal!

I'm still shopping around for a handheld, I'm thinking of getting Yaesu FT-60R.. I dont know what i'm going to mount in the truck, lot of research ahead of me, any recommendations for in car radios?

I might get a dual band hand held and a 2m for the truck, i dont know, I just passed the test, which has consumed me for the past month lol.

I'm still waiting for my call sign, hopefully this Friday they will publish it.

73 right back to you!

FT-60R is great. I have 2 of them. I am just starting to look at what for the truck, and as an Yaesu fan (for 20+ yrs), I think I will go with FT8900.

8900 (quad band) vs 8800 (dual band) is like $30 difference. The key feature for 8000 series is the cross-band repeat function, where I can have my truck as a mobile repeater for various handhelds in the area. Example use case: the handhelds listening on VHF and transmit out on UHF, while the truck radio listening on UHF and re-transmit out on VHF.

If you don't need the cross-band functions, and still want a dual band, then FT7900 will work.

And if you want to just go with a single band VHF, then FT2900 is a wonderful unit. No fan, so absolutely quite, while producing 75W of transmit power.... the highest of all mobile units.

Take a look at this photo from shrockworks front end. You can see that they put in spacer blocks of some kind to drop the radiator bracket lower to prevent contact.

Had sme nice weather for a change, far from rain and muddy conditions. I previously treated the vehicle with Opti-coat but did not use any type of wax on it. This week I received the Optimum car wash, OPtimum spray wax, and a few other detailing goodies. I decided to gove them a try and get the car cleaned and waxed. I have many little projects that I could not due u til the weather was better and the parts are pillong up in the house. I would not hesitate to recommend any of the optimum products I used today, everything turned out excellent. I also put on clear bra underneath all of the door handles. I will do the door edges tomorrow as well as finish cleaning out the inside. Tomorrow is more reserved to put back the stock spindles on the Fj and rear sway bar so I can have some progress getting it back to stock. Then I can focus on the 4-Runner.
