Thought the same thing. Obviously a switch that is connected to the hood lift strut, but how? yeah pics are a must!

What the heck is a "strut switch"? Pics?

These are usually used as a truck topper accessory. Not sure how exposed that spot is but I wouldn't expect these to handle the elements reliably. I do like the look though. You can see it on the drivers side strut at the base in his pic.

That would be the one, others have used it for far longer than I without issue. I first saw it over on tacoma forums long ago on a topper then hood.

I pulled the trigger on the Toyota (Southeast) P/N:00016-48011 "LED Fog Light & DRL 2in1", its not cheap, but it is really the best solution I had seen (a Fog light that is color matched to my 4300K HID). I also dig the fact that it is also a LED DRL.
