Attempted a local trail that saw extensive flood damage a couple years ago, and realized a few more mods I'll need before another attempt (details in my build thread.)
Then I drove through the scales to see what the runner weighs in at now that I've built my drawers and put on my ARB front bumper and winch:
Front - 1360 kg
Rear - 1200 kg
Total of 2,560 kg, with just me in it ( or 5,632 lbs, for those of you in America, Myanmar, and Liberia.)
Not as bad as I thought it might be. I was also carrying my axe, golf clubs, a few extra tools, AND I hadn't pooped yet, so realistically probably 2,260 kg total.

How does it look in person? I find it fairly hideous from the pics I've seen. It takes styling cues from the 4Runner, but it takes all the shittiest cues, haha.
Of course, I hated the 3rd gen Tundras when they came out and don't mind them too much now, so I guess time will tell.

I think the greatest hurdle to overcome is the grill. But ALOT of people said that about the current T4R.

I hear ya - looks like they found some leftover 2nd gen Highlander grilles and decided to use them for the new Tacoma. I'm willing to bet that the base model grille will probably be more my style.

There is also the fact that many people will look to get a custom bumper like a Shrockworks set up. Well that will all but wipe out the grill anyway.

Finally got a lift! Installed a 3" ome lift kit with the built right UCAS. Looks and sounds like UCAS are doing well, great buy for these uniballs for 470.
Install took a bit of time, from 4 hours. But I also got my shrockworks skids on. Anyone needing some factory trail skids?
