What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Need some lift help

We just got a 2013 SR5 and I am looking to lift and level it. Currently we have nearly new BFG 265/70- with stock 17's. I was wondering if anyone has tried the following lift combination on an SR5 Runner.


With stock coils up front for about 2.5’’ of lift (top clip setting) -

Eibach Pro Truck Sport Performance Shocks for 03+4Runner and 07+FJ Cruiser

Sway-A-Way rear coils (with your stock shocks) for about 1.5’’ of lift in the back -

Sway-A-Way Rear 1.5" Lift Coils

I would like to see pics if anyone has done it and hear about tire options. I don't want to spend on wheels just yet.

Installed RCI skids this morning. Very easy install. You don't realize how crappy the factory skids are until you install a nice product like this. Next step will be protection for the transmission, transfer and some sliders. Also investing in ramps and jacks to hold up stuff is very helpful.

No idea why the middle pic keeps flipping over.

Dremel multi-max with oscillation blade (started with grinder below but man this is by far the superior option. No overheating.


Dremel with grinding rotary wheel


Measure, sharpe hash, tape 'em up


Clamp 'em down with the best investment for this job


Hire this guy

LOL... I spent all my money on 4Runners so I can only afford one shirt. They're different shirts, but I do try to stay as tough as I can by wearing only flannel.

Finished up the anthracite PlastiDip out back and removed the SR5 badges on the side

Now they match the front

I hear Tapout shirts work too. I like the Quicksand color in that lighting. Every pic seems to be different with that color, looks good tho.

2015 got a bath and I found rust. WTF?!

Anyone have this issue or even noticed it? It's the tailgate hinge on the drivers side. This shot is looking down through the gap in the roof. It's small, but the thing is 2 months old

Have not noticed that on mine but you are in the salt belt. Still messed up being so new.

Washed my truck so that all the bug guts I get driving to the east coast and back will be fresh!

Rewired my CB, much better SWR, hopefully this gets me through. :cowboy:

Sound deadening door panels

Took my SR5 to the dealership for its 5k Service, also got a free wash!

Then I decided I would sound deaden my door panels finally since I've had a roll of FATmatt that I ordered a few weeks ago.

Whole process took a while (approx 4hrs) but it was fairly easy thanks to Sp8Ball's thread! The rear door panels were a PIA to reinstall... but other than that, it went very smoothly and made a HUGE sound improvement! Wayy more bass response now from the stock front door speakers, almost makes me think I don't really need to do much else with the sound system :biggrin1:
