Yeah man, when mine was younger and we lived next to a bunch of wheat fields he learned quickly that the beeps preceded a gnarly shock. After a week the beeps were all it took! But when we're out camping or he knows he can bolt cuz he's not wearing the fancy collar, he's gone!

Mounted some Demello hybrid sliders to my rig.



Mounting the driver's side was not a lot of fun because of the KDSS. Does anyone else have experience with the KDSS unit getting hit when using sliders in general? It seems really exposed on the Demello's. I'm curious why Demello doesn't have a flat, length-wise cross member protecting it. The picture below is from their website where you can see the exposed KDSS unit. Do large rocks ever get jammed in this large opening preventing the rig from "sliding"?



Here's a picture of my truck with the exposed KDSS. The sliders look a little different from the ones on the website.



It looks like Demello used to have some type of cross member (see screeenshot).

She's debating either a Blue Limited or Silver Trail Premium w/ KDSS.

You'll notice my male is not in any of the photos. He's my bolting dog who doesn't like coming back. He also gets tired after walking more than a mile. He's the most non-ridgeback-like RR I've ever owned. He'd rather hold down the sofa at home.

If he actually wanted to go running, I would probably invest in something, but he has seasonal/environmental allergies and he doesn't enjoy exercise. With my girl, I can run her alongside my bike for 4 or 5 miles and she's ready for more.

It's unfortunate that he has the allergies, as he is a nice dog and finished his championship quickly and passed all required health testing easily. I would have liked to have bred him.... but I wouldn't want anyone to deal with the allergies he has, so he's a retired/neutered pet.

Keep him going in the car in the crate. He will get used to it. Give him something to do, like a peanut butter filled kong toy. That will help distract him.
