What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

I did this, because I'm tired of that being under my back seat, and it's way more accessible on those back country camping trips when it's just inside the rear glass and not under a pile of shit.

Not going to argue the legality of it, I don't really care, but if anyone else is looking for a way to mount theirs...

This is a disposable shotgun (NEF Pardner Protector, bought it for $100 used, clone of the 870) in a Big Sky Racks SBR-1 ($57.00 at Cabelas). Big Sky also makes an SBR-2 which holds two guns. I actually bought the SBR-2 because they were out of the SBR-1, but I simply didn't add the extra clamps on the back side for the second gun so this is basically the SBR-1.

The rack is very stout, nicely finished aluminum. If you look at the link, you will see that there is a padded middle section with a velcro band that is designed to secure the gun, I opted not to install that in the interests of keeping this nice and trim to the headliner. I have a fastex buckle holding the gun in and will use a short length of braided wire / cable lock to secure the gun against theft as needed. You could also build a aluminum lock assembly using aluminum plate and a clevis pin (see old pic, below).

By placing it here I was able to maximize two features: first, no drilling required. Just remove the coat hooks and bolt this up in their place. Second, it's accessible without opening the hatch if you roll the window down.

A few pics including from outside to give you an idea how invisible this thing is. I had one in my Xterra and no one ever noticed it, and it survived some harsh use in Moab and the like.

Gotta commend you for having the mucho grande huevos to do that here in Kalifornia. I'd like to buy you a beer someday!

Feeling a little sick after getting the total for a 50k service.
Wanted the tranny flushed (long story with a 3rd gen tranny going bad too soon) and they said the transfer case fluid was really dark.

Maybe they'll wash it for the $400... :rant:

Just three weeks after my last tire rotation I got my tires rotated and balanced again. Yep, 6k miles in 3 weeks.

I went to America's Tire shop, where they originally installed my KO2 I got of Ebay deal. I was surprised to get it done for free - I thought free lifetime rotation and balancing is only for tires bough in the shop. Obviously I was wrong. :thumb:

9 years old Michelins in my 95 Tacoma went bad, so I ordered the whole set of KO2 for this truck as well. I'm 100% sold on KO2.

Got the TRD Pro front and rear bumper plates to replace the Trail's silver piece. Haven't put them on yet, as I'm waiting for the LED bar, brackets and such to show up and do all in one shot.

Also got the RAV4 mirrors on, and a borla muffler put in. Honestly, not digging the muffler. I'll give it a few weeks, but probably going to chuck it out and put the factory back in.

Aftermarket mufflers do usually mellow out after a few hundred miles. Or you just get used to it.

Yeah, I thought so. I put mufflers on my Mustang, and it came out glorious. This, not so much. Lol.

But I did drive this almost a month on factory to see if I wanted to try it, so I'll give it a month to see if I want to keep it. Luckily kept the factory one.

It's a V6, with an aftermarket muffler, it's lipstick on a pig when you get down to brass tacks.

I think it sounds sorta silly with my magnaflow when revving but under load it's a good sound.

I believe it's the 12586 as well.

The 4Runner shares the same mirrors (14+ model year 4Runner) and as such the Rav4 has the blind spot convex mirrors in the corners.

I put the borla touring on mine, if it bothers that much just turn the radio up to 11!

Lots of electrical wiring. But I am finally finished i stakking my Bussman Fuse Block with self healing fuses and relays. All my switches and accessories are now integrated into this circuit. It is located in the engine bay on the driversmrear as the pictures show. Allowing easy troubleshooting and fuse reoacement as well as a factory and professional installation.

I got the parts to do this as well. Had a dealer match sparks toyota prices for it. Under $100 for both mirrors. I am just waiting for my father to bring them when he visits and will install the . No dealer within an hour of me.
