Returned from a road trip! Finally got my 4Runner properly dirty--couldn't even wait for the license plates to come in! First ever off-road on an awesome Lake Havasu trail thanks to forum member 03_4x4Runner letting a newbie tag along. :baby:

The only areas that I cant seem to get to are behind the edges of the headlights and a few areas of the engine bay. But those may come in handy when some mint TRD Pro parks next to me at the mall and the driver asks "SR5? Do you even wheel bro?"

Which makes zero sense if you think about it, because with my TRD wheels and TRD skid and TRD knob and TRD license plate and TRD everything you'd think you guys would be smart enough to see me I'm just a jealous poser who went cheap.

Oh well. Drove it to see a buddy this afternoon. Looks pretty pretty when it's clean

Fun in the woods

A bit behind on posts, will post more detailed pics later but got the Shrockworks kit to move the smog pump and install a second battery system, went with a blue sea system and a set up much like Antman's, also wired constant 12 volt to rear for new National Luna fridge/freezer and built a camp/cook/slider system that fits over the top of my aftermarket 3rd row seat. I'll post more on each of these but for now this is what we did after we got it all hooked up.

Ran an air hose from the engine bay to the cargo area Jack compartment, then stuffed a coiled hose and tire inflator in there.

Looks like the family had an awesome time. I'd be interested in learning more about your camp/cook/slider system. I'm thinking through a couple different designs similar to that.

Installed my mobile ham radio and 2m/70cm antenna.

Icom 2730A, Comet SBB-2, CP5 mount. Antenna cable runs through cargo headliner, down through the passenger side kick panels, and underneath front passenger seat where the Icom brains are located. Power to the brain runs under center console, underneath steering column and out through the firewall rubber grommet. Cable from brains to head unit runs under center console, up behind AC controls, and into the back of glove box through the dummy switch cover.

Haven't finalized head unit mount or mic hanger.

Accidentally cut open my middle finger with a circular sawbwhile working on a mod... so I guess you can say I drove myself to the ER in my 4Runner.

Got new BFG KO2s 275/70/17 on Friday, took them out today to get them dirty! (They look big up front due to the wide angle lens)
Nothing major, just some dirt, gravel, muddy roads. Days like this exploring and taking photos remind me why I love my 4Runner!

Spent all last week meandering State and National forests of upper 1/3 of Wisconsin for our Leaf Tour. What a beautiful state.

The 4R is such a great road trip vehicle. We'll probably drive to Key West this Feb. Cruise Control still sucks a big one.

I am not a CC person... period. Used it in the T4R only a couple of times this past summer vaca to give my right leg a quick “break”. Then, last time we went to OK in the wife’s new QX60, I tried her “intelligent” CC... WHOA. That thing is amazing. Of course, straight, flat, un-inspiring roads (obviously)... but still, silky smooth and will adjust speed on its own. Crazy.

Bought my 4runner 10/6/16

full led swap, 5k hid lows 3k hid fogs, bilstein 5100 all around front set to 1.75 rear stock

Ditched the front sway bar, got the alignment done, grabbed my dslr for the first time in 6 months, and went test wheeling solo in garlock. Did about half of last chance and turned back didn't want to risk a flat on the stock dunlops and not being able to air down, also it got boring when I used to take every hard route with our heep jk.
So we proceeded to blast mesquite canyon rd didn't do bad, but I can't wait for UCA's and kings all around!! Then a victory beer at The Joint in Randsburg

Hopefully wheels and tires this weekend cant make up my mind between method NV's or Walker Evans and Falken wildpeaks or General grabber x3
