What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Wired up a solar charge controller. The left pair goes to the solar panel, middle pair for battery and right pair to any accessory. I've worked it with a quick disconnect. Second picture shows example device using quick disconnect and aux output. Solar charger also has USB. I will eventually wire up a 12v cigarette plug as well. Using one older 50 watt panel for now. Solar charger also has ability to cut power to accessory if battery voltage drops below a certain level. Sorry for crappy picks.

Haha I pulled the front windshield cowel and nothing but mesquite needle rubbish, sucked all them out and put some double sided tape on the heater clip(dash noise hopefully solved)

Looks great! If you have some extra paint/Dip, you should do the roof rails. I did mine and it makes it look a lot better. Also got my front windows done last week and it was also a huge improvement. For $50 it is well worth it.

Thanks, I never thought about doing the rails but I may just have enough left over for them. I've called for quotes on front windows and the best I've gotten was $90. Probably going to have them done in the next few weeks.

I used a popular product called Plasti-Dip. Its like a rubberized spray-paint that you can peel off when you dont like the look anymore. I bought the Matte-Black Wheel kit from dipyourcar.com and it came with everything I needed. I think most people spray the wheels when they're on the car, but I took them off and did 5 coats on each wheel.

Nope. They cleaned everything and dyed the oil, and after running at high idle for 30 minutes there wasn't any sign of leaking. I have it back now, and will drive it for 500-1000 miles, checking for leaks every 100 miles, before returning it to them so they can reinspect. Whatever it is will be a warranty claim, but we need to I.D. the leak first. Fun times...

That is a great idea, as I've heard from a few ppl on this forum that if you don't do the whole rim/wheel you may get rust under or around the edge of the tire. I've heard the best way to do that sort of spray or powder coating is to take the whole wheel off and do it. Great advice. Thank you :happy:

Hey guys and gals, I'm in need of your awesome knowledge on electrical wiring. Some months ago I went to a very good off-road shop for the installation of my S8 Baja Design light bar. They did an excellent job but it was kind of pricey. I have just received an ARB 12 volt wiring loom to power my Indel-B fridge 24/7. The question is if I can just connect it directly to the stock battery with the wiring of the light bar, or do I have to do something else??? I really don't know shit about electronic wiring and definitely don't want to burn my truck to the ground. Attached are some pics of the light bar wiring so you can tell me if it's ok or not to do the install directly. Thanks in advanced for your help!!!

You'll just run the ARB harness direct to the battery. No need to over think it, the light harness will be a totally independent circuit. Don't tap into the light wiring, just go straight to the battery terminals.
