Quick run this morning:

Well, I dropped off my blue (5th gen trail w/ KDSS) today to have a lift installed. Fox 2.5 DSC coilovers, fox 2.5 rear shocks, T13 rear springs, diff drop and a TC UCA. The shops estimte was $600 plus $120 for the alignment.

Got a call during the job today that it was going slower than they expected. Long story short, the new cost will be closer to $1,050. And they told me that they are splitting the additional labor costs they needed to do the job.

Anyone know why this job would present such a challenge for this shop. They do monster builds all the time and have a very good reputation. They told me the new trucks are "very tight" and they have trouble separating / breaking parts apart.

Any input greatly appreciated.

No idea. I had almost the exact same lift installed except I didn't have the DSC and I had Dirt King UCAs. My guy even installed my TRD pro skid plate. He only charged me 440 for the install.

Worked Saturday went straight to Kern after. Forgot our fishing poles and pillows. Racked up 600 miles between Saturday and Sunday

Went up Dickey Bell at Uwharrie in NC

Easy in the FJ a couple years back. Little different in the 4Runner but none the less, got up and only touched a little on front skid and crossmember.

Mind sharing details on where you were? Camping right on the lake front?

No too windy on the lake sadly we stayed at Rivernook in kernville since my girlfriends sister already had a campspot on the river. But I'm pretty sure you can camp lake front there were a couple RV's along the lake. Don't quote me tho we always camp up on the river only reason I was by the lake is because the main road we take the river flooded the road so they were sending everyone around the lake the back way in.

Campgrounds along the river you have Rivernook and James camp both have showers fire pits etc. There's also a ton of state camp spots all along the upper Kern not sure what amenities they have and you also need a permit for camp fires and bbq's.

Side note right now the water level is extremely high, fast, and cold (highest its been in years) so unless you kayak or raft I'd wait till August when the water levels drop especially if you have kids
