What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Man hate to hear that it's one thing to be picky and another to be getting quality work for the money you/insurance is paying to have it repaired correctly. My brother manages a body shop where we live and I assure you vehicles don't leave with issues like this. Hate to think you would have to get rid of it but starting from scratch might be only route.

Thanks. I forgot that the gate seems to swing not quite right compared to new. I think the hinge mounts might be tweaked. When closed the up gap between the gate and body is bigger than the new ones, but once open the gap is smaller than new ones. Something isn't right. And both hinges are new. I had them replaced when on this last attempt I saw that the holes were wallowed out. I've considered a whole new shell, but at this point that's all out of pocket and I have my doubts that it'd be assembled issue free.

I can't understand how this is so hard. The first shop utterly butchered things. The second is better and genuinely wants to make it right, but two tries and still issues. I mean come on.

Installed my 5100's up front. Forgive the reverse rake, thanks to Amazon for shipping the rears late and blowing up my schedule. Those go on tomorrow.

Drove Erratically

Cisco Butte glacial erratics. Picture that entire canyon full of ice; that's how these boulders got where they are.

Still very deep snow above 6000' in the shade. Had to use my chainsaw twice, too. That was a hell of a winter.

T4R Lights in Inyo Mtns.

Got up into the Inyos this weekend, got to do some good 4wheeling around Mazourka Peak and Papoose Flats. Also got to run my new 20" light bar (Rigid E2 driving beam), using it in conjunction spot lights on top and ditch lights (Rigid D2 driving beam). The ditch lights are great, they widen the beam from the driving bar, giving me almost 190 degrees of light.

What privacy shelter are you using there and thoughts on it?

It's a Nemo Heliopolis. We like it quite a bit and it has some nice features (locking zipper, TP cover for shower time, several pockets, etc.). The one thing it doesn't have that I wish it did is a port to run my road shower hose through. It's made to use with Nemo's shower that sits inside, which I didn't want. It also doesn't have a rain fly, but I'm not sure it needs it.

Drove it after it sat in the garage for two weeks while I was out of town for work. Zero downtime to meet up with a couple folks I had hoped to connect with while gone.

Great to be back in Colorado and with my truck. Now time to plan some offroading and camping trips!

Sand ain't no thang

Last weekend we took it to the Sand Dunes in Colorado. We camped up past the park, in the mountains. Oh yeah, I pulled my Clipper 2016 106 ST SS Sport pop-up behind it, loaded with camp gear and a full tank of water. The sand going past the park is treacherous. Many, many 4x's got stuck and had to be pulled out. When I bogged down coming back out (in the worst spot there is there) I hit 0 on the mph as well. But I was able to pull out on my own power, slowly, cutting the wheel side to side. Gotta love the cajones on these 4Runners. SR5 by the way, not Trail edition.

I have had 3 cars repaired (mostly body work) by RainTree Autobody off of Raintree and 101 and they have all come out perfect for what it's worth.
