Just received my stock size Wildpeak AT3's. Getting installed on Saturday on my powder coated Trail wheels. Pretty excited.

Random question: why do people install air lockers on 4Runners that have e-lockers? Or am I confused?

The Trail, TRD Offroads, and Pros come with a factory locker. You may be seeing SR5's and Limited's with the air lockers.

Nothing major. Got my 10,000 mile service done. Grabbed some lunch afterward and had to sit next to the window so I could admire my 4Runner. Such a good looking vehicle.

Okay figured that might be it. Do people add them to front differentials because the TRDPs/Trails only coming with rear locker?

You certainly can add an airlocker to the front. That said though the effort and cost to do it is relatively substantial. Especially when you consider that ATRAC does a pretty good job of transferring power between the front wheels (using the ABS system) when you have a wheel up in the air.

I've looked into but ultimately decided it wasn't worth the cost.

For those without the rear e-locker I could see it making more sense though.

I took my relatively new 2017 Limited up to Northern New Hampshire last week. NH and Maine had a major rain storm and winds of 60 mph Sunday night into Monday. A falling tree just missed my 4 Runner outside my cabin!!! All the roads to the main highway were blocked by trees so I was told I could not get home until the road crews opened things up. I figured that the road crews would take days to get to where I was but I was able to go across a fairly rough field and through a ravine to get around the blockages. I had never driven off a road before, but it was a piece of cake. I was able to get to the main highway and got home. Yay, 4 Runner!!!

I plan to add a couple more pouches/stuff later, as well as the Rago modular storage panel on the back windows down the road. (using the 4Runner as a new work vehicle).

Plan to have a lot of fun kitting this thing out!
I put the medic kit here, instead of under the seat, and the dump pouch is my new garbage can.

This is one of the many reasons why I would never, ever want a "self-driving" car. No way some computerized POS is going to do anything like that.
