Front is set at 1.75. On the rear I'm using 2 10mm OME trim packers on the driver's side and 1 on the passenger side. With this setup there's right at 1" rake front to rear.

thats what i'm dreading whats going to happen but i did a can per wheels so hopefully its thick enough? but if it peels im taking it all off. maybe try to vinyl wrap it? :noidea:

it should be ok, i plastidip'd mine 2 years ago and its still going strong at 1 can per wheel, just don't use oil based solvents on it to clean it....

I hit Hollister today for the first time. I live 30 miles away and have never been, go figure. I took a buddy, who is new to wheeling and we had a great time. I also had to, I just had to, test my sliders. I really wish I had gotten out and snapped a pic of the section that took out my rear wheel, but I was kind of busy.

Baja Racks Ladder Install
Installed the Baja Racks Ladder on Sunday.
I didn't do it exactly like the instructions suggested. They tell you to mount a 3M tape backed aluminum plate onto the bottom bracket but that didn't make any sense. The plate just gets bent back when you try to tighten the allen screws. It really belongs flat on the inside bottom edge of the door where the allen screws can bear on it.
If the paint on the ladder looks a little different than powder coated it's because I painted it with 3 coats of Rustoleum paint for long lasting durability and rust prevention. The welds at the mounting plates had a few gaps in them so the extra paint will help prevent rust there.
After the install we went for a hike in the local mountains on the north side of Mount Lukens. The photo was taken at around 3500 feet. The peak just out of view to the left is around 5700 feet. It was cool (60 F) in the shade and warmer in the sunshine (68 F) at around 2:30 pm. Notice the grass is still dry in the middle of winter. That's because we've yet to get any rain since around December. It's going to be a dry year again here in So Cal.

Got some garage time in
Got a little quality time in the garage this weekend.
Hacked up the grille, installed some marker lights and underhood LED lighting with a pin switch.
Not sure yet if I'm going to to a logo of some sort in the grille or not. Kicking around a couple of ideas...

The problem was re wind fairing installation.
Those nuts don’t align properly
and some amount of filing is required on the inside of the fairing
I advise first fit-mounting on a flat surface to see where you are, unless you want your BOSS
to give you the look of “you paid 1k for this, I’m here for the last 1/2h and you still did not install this thing? [emoji4]
When you fit it, make sure the edge trim is in between fairing and the rail.
Fitting will allow you to see if you need to file the fairing
and where you have to start filing
Maybe you’re lucky and you will not have to make any changes but doing it first on a flat surface will save you a lot of aggravation.
Check also how many 1/4-20 button heads you get. Their inventory list calls for 52 but you need 60s. I wrote them last night about it.
With 52 screws you end up with 4 rails mounted on 2 screws vs 3
I’m also frustrated by the fact that one of the fairing’s nuts gave away and I couldn’t finish one screw
I’ll have to figure out a solution for it
After your install, did you contact SSO about these issues? If so, what was their response?

I contacted them about the missing screws. They already sent me those. Will contact them today about the other issues.
