Search YouTube for Canvas back in the 4Runner with cargo slider. I was thinking the same as you however they make a piece for the slider too.... still functions and all your tie downs are still available.
100% sure I’ll be getting the full kit to cover all the carpet in the back.
What crossbar did you use to mount the RTT? Youve had it for a while, hows it working it for you? looks awesome BTW.
Actually, that is one I've had for a long time, and moved it from my Chevy Avalanche to my 4Runner. I have blendmount in my other car...

High quality, and a bit less $$$ than the blend mount. I found the email that showed what I ordered as "23mm super z VALENTINE LASAR CONNECTOR". But you should double check and measure your mirror post.
From what you're saying, the front should be higher than the back. There is a 1" front rake when the truck is stock, so lifting the front 2.5" and the rear 1.5" should level it. I asked the guy who installed it but he said it's all the way up in the front (2.5").

Thanks! I have the Thule Aeroblade Edge crossbars on stock rails (purchased years ago with a Thule cargo box). Just got back from a 3,000+ mile road trip and the iKamper was sweet. Had no issues on the highway, though I will say the wind deflector is key. Set up is literally 1 minute once you've done it a few times. My family of 4 slept great. Plenty of room. The mattress is a little thin for side sleepers like me. While the wife and kids had no issues with the mattress, I will probably throw an Exped in there for me next time. Love the hard shell. All the bugs and dirt cleaned off in just a few minutes with a light pressure washer. My two minor complaints are:
1) the mounting/unmounting time with wrenching all the bolts on with limited space between the tent and the roof,
2) the 4R stock rails are short, meaning the front of the tent is pushed up far past the front cross bar so that the rear hatch will clear.
Looking at solving both of these issues with a different roof rack system like this one so that I can simply leave the cross bars fixed to the iKamper and can have the front cross bar further up on the roof to better balance the weight. That...or a trailer, lol!

Started going through withdraw. I haven't seen my 4Runner since Saturday, and even then it was only for 2 minutes while it was in pieces at the shop.
I got a call this morning, the shop ran into a few issues which slowed them down. New ETA on the monster is now late on 5Jul.
I spent the morning trying to convince the rental car company to let me keep the car I have instead of having to swap out. But they want way too much for that to happen. So before work I dropped off the rental, and caught the shuttle to the office. After work I had a coworker drop me at the terminal to grab this thing.....

I just installed my rack yesterday. It does come with a small strip. I bought extra to wrap my hatch where the ladder is. I’m on the fence about installing it... but no matter how carefully I step, my toes touch the hatch on the ladder. So I’m sure it will go on soon!
Gobi rack looks great on the car. So glad it finally showed up. Install was easy.
Tomorrow I’m installing my Shrockworks sliders and TRD skid.
Then the Molle panel goes out for powder coating and we start building the sleep platform / slide for the Dometic fridge I ordered today.
Its been a productive staycation week. [emoji16]

So I was watching a video yesterday that says the rack is 200 lbs. Gobi's spec says it's 70 lbs. Which is it?

Put on a hood guard and the j-racks, getting ready for a trip to Franconia this week. Wish we had an awning and RTT for the 4Runner, in time. For now just old fashioned camping and kayaking with it.

It's a restored m416 military trailer. Its super clean for its age (1967 I believe), all OEM military parts, the owner painted it when he restored it to match his Jeep. I'll soon be doing an axle swap to switch to a 6 x 5.5 bolt patter to match Toyota. The plan is to mount FJ steelies and LT265 70r 17 tires so I can run an interchangeable spare between the vehicle and trailer. Long term plans are to build out side steps, fenders and mount a custom fab adjustable height RTT rack. I was pretty set to pull the trigger on a M101, which was larger than I wanted but I had been unsuccessful finding a m416 in the price range that I could restore/customize and make buying a used trailer worth while. I got lucky finding this one.

Built a platform for the fridge, now just trying to figure out if I want to build some drawers or just use totes. Also had a buddy weld some plate to my hitch for a step. I know it's overkill but I already had it when I used my f350 to tow the rock crawler.

...This one is for breeding Bison...and I do not know the size of the herd...but I counted some 450 the other day...this ranch is 113,000 acres....but I have been told he owns over 100-square miles of ranchland in Montana...

Not sure. Shipping packaging said 175 for rack and ladder. The ladder is suprisingly light. Seems heavier than 70lbs. I had my husband and teenage son help me put it on top. We put some pillows down on the roof so we could set the rack on the pillows as we adjusted things. I’d recommend them over blankets

...After weeks of frustrating searches by phone and in-person...finally found a metal-fabricator in Bozeman, thru the local Land-Cruiser club, who does spectacular work and is reasonably priced....and the guy is an artist!...:artist2:
...His name is Sailor Neale...( Honestly!...that's his real name! )....and he was recommended by the 406-Cruisers club...
...I took my plans to him...we talked...and he got the raw materials and started to measure, cut, measure, bend, measure, weld, measure, drill, and grind-n-polish stuff until he made the two stands to support the plywood platform that shall become the base for my in-truck bed....
...I designed the stands to bolt into the seat-anchor points in rear and front..as they seemed to be the strongest places to secure the plywood platform...( I have removed the rear seats completely, btw )...
...I painted all the metal with black acrylic paint both to protect it from rust...and to make it look a bit more finished....:thumb3:
