What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

So I installed my Gobi Stealth yesterday. Still need to do the wind fairing and ladder. Holy cow that thing is loud without a wind fairing, even at just 40 mph. I thought a commercial airliner was landing above me.

Anyway, got to work this morning and a ****ing seagull took a dump on it right in the middle of the roof where I'm not even sure my arm will fit to clean it off. LOL. Bastard seagull.

Unfortunately, for whatever reason, Seattle doesn't believe in touchless car washes and only the brush ones exist which I'm paranoid of with that guy that got his rack ripped off the roof of his car a few years back.

Made a temporary fishing rod holder for a trip to the beach. Next year I'm making a nicer one based on what I've learned.

Wow looks good, did you use tape or razor for your lines?

Wife and daughter are in Vegas for Dance Nationals. So I had some fun on my own. Not the cleanest lines I was hoping for but I’m happy with the overall outcome.

Lots of taping and retaping. Plus a scalpel with a #15 blade (smallest curved blade I could find at work hahaha)
Lots of coats so it was nice and thick and after I removed the tape I used the scalpel to clean up the lines. I pretty much put not pressure on the blade it was the weight of the blade alone which was enough to score a solid line.

It's the 5010! All the brands and models were a bit overwhelming. Wasnt sure to go with a Bronson or go with a Marin full suspension or what. Ridden only two hardtail since 2009. But glad I went with this one. Buy once cry once!

Finally did the rear diff and elocker breather. Took the lazy route and put it in the jack compartment. Don't know why people use a hanger to fish it. Just had to push the hose through the grommet hole and it finds its own way to the bottom easy. Also just used zip ties to secure it. No drilling and again lazy lol. Looks good to me :guitar3:

Did something similar in my fj cruiser, but used the rods used to hang clothes and hung them the same way. Easy to take down and cheap.

As for me, I took the step bars off mine. Time to choose some sliders.

Got my SR5 Premium 4 days ago, so today I got tint put on and installed matte American flags on he rear windows! Also ordered cover king ballistic seat covers in kryptek highlander for all 7 seats, ship date is set for the 20th! wish t

Plan on getting icon stage 3 suspension kit, method NV 17”, (not sure about tires) and Gobi stealth with ladder! Oh ya and cf4 bumper with winch!

Pulled an r-pod 177 up to the Yukon river and camped out. Drove to the Arctic Circle sign the following day and did some hiking. I wouldn't say the 5th gen can pull 3500 pounds (fully loaded) easily, but overall it handled the weight quite well. There are some pretty big ass hills on the way, and the tranny only ever got to 227 degrees. Not too bad??

Very nice, I like the all LED look! My Auxbeam lows and fogs come in tomorrow. Figured I would stick with that brand since I'm quite happy with my LED bar behind the lower fascia [emoji41]

Thanks Joe! I'm thinking about putting a light bar behind the grill as well, but I know rigid and BD are pricey, plus I'll only use them when needed in the winter time, so I may look into auxbeams. What brackets are you using to mount them?

Gave my girl some new underwear....

(and took a really cruddy picture of it. That's what a little elbow grease after being out of action will do to you, I suppose...haha)

Really simple swap, the only "hard parts" were figuring out how to do a couple of things. Unbolted the stock skid and it just hangs there (as designed). Couldn't figure out how to wiggle it to get the hooks undone....so I looked at the directions. Taking the trim piece off made that a lot easier. Then rear bolt #1 didn't want to go in the last .5" or so....remembered someone suggesting using a tap to "clean out" the bolt hole. Did the trick in only a couple of passes.

I had painted the skid black beforehand (looks far better to me on the darker 4runner), but hadn't given the rear bolts a quick coat. So, I got my rattle-can and gave the first bolt a little spray. Turns out I had grabbed my can of white. I'm an idiot. Thankfully, not anything that can't be fixed.
