Ok figured out that the wire I’m running from battery to breaker is a 10 awg 35 amp max so could run fridge and compressor

Finished the install of my Aluminum SSO bumper, Warn Platinum 10K winch, and 30" SR 2 Ridig light bar!!! Total net weight gain of 113LBS. Very HAPPY with the whole set up. Lowered front end roughly 3/4".... maybe. That's with stock TEP shocks.



Road trip to Western PA Cook Forest second weekend in September. Can't wait to hit the Forest roads at night :<)))

Finished installing the Goose Gear 3rd row seat delete. you have to cut the supports on the plastic trim pieces that go on the "ears", making them very flimsy. I made some new ones out of 1/2' ply, added some supports under it, and covered with rubber. Much more sturdy.

Just wrapped up a week long trip with the wife, 9 month old and pop up camper from Denver to Park City to the Tetons to Yellowstone, out the NE entrance and back to Denver. Probably wouldn't do it again with a 9 month old, but overall was a fun experience. Arrived home to my new camper plates in the mail.

I'm gonna be at YSNP and GTNP in a couple of weeks. What were you favorite things to see?

Last summer I spent 3 days in GTNP and 5 days in YSNP, just did the touristy things, no wheeling, here were my favorites.

YSNP:
-Grand Prismatic Springs (boardwalk)
-Old Faithful...obviously a must see when is Yellowstone
-Mammoth Hot Springs (boardwalk)
-Grand Canyon of Yellowstone (Artist point, hiked up about 2 miles)
-North Entrance, Teddy Roosevelt Arch
-Overall, this felt more like a tourist destination, a lot of sight seeing and boardwalks. Not a ton of long hikes in my experience.

GTNP:
-Kayak in Jackson lake and explore some of the islands
-Hike Heron Pond and Swan Lake loop
-Explore Jackson
-Overall, this park was a top 3 park for sights to see. Such a beautiful landscape!

Yes, you can hit all the major sites in 1-2 days if you're determined, it's a big place though, so its a lot of driving back and forth. It's a lot of boardwalks and overviews, but still beautiful never the less.

Unfortunately, we didn't spend as much time as we wanted in the Tetons, but I have heard there are some fun hikes. If you can get on Jackson Lake, do it. Water is crystal clear and the most scenic lake I have ever been on!

Dorman aftermarket hubs-smaller stud opening-CHECK YOUR KNURL DIAMETER

Since 4th and 5th gens share the same wheel hubs, that is why I posted this here. Whether your a fan of Dorman products or not I figured this FYI was something that might help other members with aftermarket hubs installed and are needing to repair a broken stud or wanting to go to a longer stud for wheel spacers. That's how I happened across this, doing a TC set up on my 4th gen that requires wheel spacers. I ordered longer studs for the spacers going by the OEM part#s without actually checking my hubs. Well they're aftermarket hub and bearing assembly using a Dorman hub. So the Matrix studs (Dorman #610-463) I ordered will not work.

The 4th and 5th gen share the same Hub according to Dormans website, but the knurl opening in these particular Dorman hubs, is considerably smaller then our OEM hubs. The knurl diameter listed for an OEM stud is 14.2mm,



and the opening is only 13.3mm in the Dorman hub. This is the stud that came out of the Dorman hub.



From what I can find on the web, an ideal stud knurl diameter is larger than the opening in the hub by 0.500mm for steel and 0.700mm for aluminum. So I cross referenced these Ford #s on the Dorman website, since I'm committed to these hubs with not much hope of finding an OEM size that will fit them. This is the stud I ordered:


So far so good on the install, they pulled in nice and straight, the knurl diameter of 13.82 mm works well with the 13.3 mm opening in the Dorman hub. The length looks perfect for the spacers as well. Anyway, Moral of the story, check your knurl diameter so you don't order the wrong studs.....like I did. Anyone in Central Fla need Matrix studs? Going cheap....

My buddies and I went on a trip to Yellowstone a few years ago during the Summer. It was very touristy (in the sense that a lot of people are there, but it's not cheesy or anything) but the features there are completely mindblowing if you've never been.

We stayed there for 8 days. Apparently, the average time spent in Yellowstone National Park is 7 hours. You can easily fill an entire weeks worth of adventures if you mix in some backpacking as well as drive-up campsites.

It was so busy when we went with all of the reserved campsites being unavailable that we went backpacking from Yellowstone into the national forest of Montana. Then after about three days of backpacking, we drove around and somehow managed to luck out and find a teeny-tiny drive-up campsite that we used as our home base for the rest of the trip. We probably saw Old Faithful go off at least a dozen times because the bar with patio that overlooks it is super relaxing.

Anyway, yeah, there are going to be a shitload of people there in the Summer, but it really is unlike anywhere else and really awesome.

One or two days? No, no, no! It’s a BIG park with long driving distances and can be slow driving with cars stopped for wildlife blockages and buffalo crossings. Not to mention possible road closings for construction/repair. Carefully check the park website for the latest info. There’s a lot to see, and you have to get out on the trails, even for short hikes, to see it and get away from the lazy tourists.

Last fall I spent 11 days on a YSNP GTNP trip. That’s with travel time from CA. We stayed 2-3 days each in motels/hotels at four different places for bases of exploration. Jackson to explore GTNP, Old Faithful Lodge, Canyon Village, West Yellowstone.

Jackson alone is worth one day of site seeing, shops, and a brewpub (Snake River Brewing).
Used Jackson as a base to explore GTNP (we did have done smoky days there due to fires in the PNW). Hiked Jenny Lake, up Cascade Canyon, took boat shuttle back to trailhead for 10 miles trip.
Stayed at Old Faithful Lodge, hiked around the whole Upper Geyser Basin for a day and were fortunate to time it to see many of the occasional geysers erupting, really awesome. More spectacular than Old Faithful itself; the only thing OF had going for it is its regularity.
There are short loop hikes at Midway Geyser Basin, Black Sand Basin, Fountain Paint Pots, Grand Canyon, Mammoth Hot Springs, Norris Geyser Basin. Midway Geyser Basin and Grand Prismatic Spring is spectacular; hike to Fairy Falls and be sure to hike up the short trail to the overlook to view Grand Prismatic Spring.
In West Yellowstone we stayed at the Alpine Motel. The owners are friendly and can give you great dining ideas. WY is another town worthy of a day of exploration.
Plan your trip well. Don’t bite off too much travel each day. Don’t spend all your time driving. You can make this an incredible experience. Have fun!

He was saying hitting all the major attractions that YSNP is known for in 1-2 days (Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic, West Thumb, Etc.), not the entire stay in the park. It can be done, I hit most of the major attractions in 2 days and spent the remainder of my stay trying to get away from the crowds. Like I said, I stayed 5 days, yes its is a big park, and there is a lot of driving that can be delayed by the bison and other critters. Would I recommend hitting all the major attractions in 2 days? No, but I also had 12 other National Parks to hit in 6-7 weeks, so Yellowstone wasn't a priority over parks like Glacier & Zion. Everyone has different time commitments, places to see and things to do. I chose to get the most YSNP experience in the least amount of time due to the crowds!

I'd spend longer in YSNP & GTNP, but we've got several people's time tables to work around and other stops to make.

Basically, we'll see what we see and the rest will be there for the next trip :
