Worked on getting my KDSS lean resolved. I was able to get it from 1" TO 1/2". Always remember to open your doors before you start lifting the 4Runner.

were you really underneath there with only a hi lift holding it up?

Watch that shrink tube resting on that battery hold down bolt. Won't take long to wear through and short and that's before the fuse. Results could be catastrophic.

Can you clarify what you mean here?

I think he meant that the type of jack he used prevents opening the door once it is jacked up. Using a floor jack and/or jack stands, you could open the doors after lifting it.

I think he and others might've been better served by saying, "Always use jack stands or other approved safety measures before climbing under a vehicle lifted by a jack."

If you don't open your door, the jack and or handle can swing up and hit your door. This way you avoid any damage to your 4runner.

Nah, it's about keeping your door from getting the crap beat out of it by the jack's beam if the jack's base slips. A few FJ Cruiser guys learned this lesson the hard way and ended up with caved-in doors.

I always find that if you want your girlfriend or wife to come out on the trails with you, it is best to teach them the joys of off-road driving. I got new tires and wheels last week, so I took my girlfriend out to test them and give her a little time in the driver's seat. She did great, and we had a great time navigating some "rock gardens" on the Coney Flats trail in northern Colorado.

I remember seeing your 4 Runner on the trail. I passed you as you where stopped with a couple of other vehicles on the Middle St V trail. I remember because I think we where the only 4Runners on the trail with a lot of JK's. Enjoy our nice fall weather.
