Thanks, the tires are Ridge Grapplers - 285/65/18. They ride and handle ok, but I don't like them as much as the KO2s that were on the Wrangler we traded in. N-Fab bars and KMC XD series 18" rims.

Dual batter
Not today, but finally installed my dual battery set up. Pieced together parts based on my needs. I would have gone with an offgridengineering setup, but decided to tackle it myself and learn something. Bought a few crimping tools and built my own wires. Definitely learned a lot about electrical sizing and capacity.
Still need to clean it up a bit and finish wiring the fridge and inverter on the inside. Solar is in the near future. Probably do a fuse block in the back cargo area to allow future expansion (ham radio, other electrical needs). Big thanks to fellow members for all the help and inspiration. :yo:

I thought that's what they were. I'm about to do the lift on mine and will need some 285s as well. Was looking at those but they are heavy and expensive. I just can't find a good enough reason not to just go with the KO2s. LOL Thanks for the info.

I can’t tell for sure from the photo, but it seems like you installed the auxiliary battery in the same orientation as the primary one. That is, the positive post is on the left side of the battery case. If so, that’s not a good situation because it’s next to the frame (electrical ground). An accident or jolting during off-roading could possibly shift the battery toward the frame and cause it to short out making a bad situation worse.
It would be better to rotate the battery 180 degrees to place the negative post next to the frame.

Went back to the dealer for the 3rd time in 2 weeks.
This time for the Takata Airbag recall, that was just expanded on Jan 9th, to now include 2016 models.
The other was for the front diff needle bearing- driver side- just updated the TSB to include 2016 models.
What a pain in the ass, you have to keep checking regularly for the updates and previously I thought i was free and clear of these problems. Stay vigilant my friends- T4R has the info just gotta stay on it.

The battery terminal extensions are from Slee Offroad. They're sold separately from their dual battery kit. These are a bit pricey ($50) but i thought it looked cleaner and was way easier/safer (IMO) than trying to redo the engine wiring.
