I installed a doohickey! Needed more charging ports and this fit right into the tiny cubby hole in the dash.

4runner is finally in for its final slew of upgrades. I'm glad I shopped around.

Had a friend at a Toyota dealership get me bilstein 5100s at the dealership cost so it was pretty much a rockauto price without shipping or tax. I saved almost $250 retail on those. Had a mechanic friend install them for $400 whereas a shop quoted me $900 for install. I got the front windows tinted to 35% for $100, all rears tinted to 20% for $240. Bought 285 duratracs for 25% off (saved $400). If I need a body mount chop, local shop quoted $650+tax. I have a fabrication friend that said he'd do it for $300 -his only concerns were rust, but I got that under control. Have some por15 laying around from a previous restore job.

Getting toytec superflex springs installed this weekend and the front bumper re-wrapped in black matte wrap with ppf. I had it done originally without ppf because I'm an idiot.

Oh! Instead of FN wheels TRD Pro reps, another friend at a toyota dealership noticed that they have Fast replicas that were 40% cheaper than the FN reps. So, I saved $500 there (employee discount).

But man, I saved thousands on the upgrades because I have some really nice friends that were generous enough to hook a friend up. Gonna throw a big BBQ this summer and invite them all over. Get the runner back tomorrow so I'll put some pictures up then.

finally finished up some much needed rewiring under the hood after I added the second battery. All accessories are wired up and re routed some items and installed the ML-ACR and the OffGridEngineering Switch harness.

I am pretty happy with how it all turned out. Pictures below go from start, to middle, to end.

*Only recommendations that I have are 1) to buy the blue sea gear from OGE and NOT amazon (I ended up wasting an entire afternoon troubleshooting an amazon dud THAT ARRIVED USED) and to plan to get the wiring laid out for ALL future mods to avoid doing what I have done and adding along the way only to perform a major tidy up reroute at the end of it.

Airbag recall and 4 new TRD center caps, under warranty. I didn't dare take a pic of the dash. Don't want to remember it like that. Only took 1 hour in and out.

Not today, but finally installed my dual battery set up. Pieced together parts based on my needs. I would have gone with an offgridengineering setup, but decided to tackle it myself and learn something. Bought a few crimping tools and built my own wires. Definitely learned a lot about electrical sizing and capacity.

Still need to clean it up a bit and finish wiring the fridge and inverter on the inside. Solar is in the near future. Probably do a fuse block in the back cargo area to allow future expansion (ham radio, other electrical needs). Big thanks to fellow members for all the help and inspiration. :yo:

Thanks ! That's a Savage Model 16 in .223 Remington. She was ~250 meters (275 yds) away but at a -45 deg angle down in that river valley behind the truck.
Didn't have to dial any elevation, held the crosshair just behind her shoulder (quartering away) and squeezed. She didn't even run, just bang-flop.

Ceramic coated the 4Runner today. Only pic I was able to upload tho. Made coat with Kamikaze’s Miyabi followed up with their ISM. Two coats to the wheels with their stance rim, and used leather shield for the interior leather! Came out beautiful

New Shoes (aka BFG's)

Picked up this certified used 2016 Trail Premium on Jan 12, 2019 - and have done a bunch of tiny things since then (see Garage link below), but this is the first I've done to it that really makes it start to stand out
-- Suspension coming next (not sure when since the Bilstein 6112/5160s are both on back order)

Installed a Summitview rock camera underneath front bumper so you can see over the edge of a drop off or rocks you might hit etc... running into the extra video input of my Kenwood headunit.

I went and bought some universal bracket at the local farm store, cut it down drilled some holes and bent an angle into it. I didn't wanna drill into my freshly powder coated bumper so i figured this was a good alternative. and easy to change or modify like when I get better skid plates later.

Added a Toytec Boss 3” lift, front runner full roof rack, blacked out chrome, and a pedal commander (huge improvement on pedal lag) running in sport mode. My 285/70R17s are rubbing against frame and will need to chop the frame. A project for next week.

I had the same lift with a 295 Rudge Grappler, much bigger tire than the KO2 and no rubbing. What is your caster set at? That's likely your issue. When I dropped down to 1.5" I still ran the 295 Grappler and still had no rubbing on the body mount.

1.5" lift, 295/70/17 Ridge Grapplers which measure a true 33.5x12 on a 17x8 wheel. Fender liner mod, no BMC needed, no rubbing. Use the correct size bump stops to limit up travel. Your down travel is still there which is all you need. This is assuming you play on the rocks. If you play in the mud it really doesn't matter. Lower COG, better driveline angles, it's a no brainer.

Interior is starting to come together, got some of the plastics back from hydro dipping and I installed paracord grab handles in place of the factory plastic ones. Love the handles they are so comfortable to grab onto. But those handles were the hardest mod I've done yet.
