Got my ACCESSORIDES Plug and Play remote installed!!!

Works GREAT......Range is OK, didn't opt for extended unit. Absulotly 100% Plug and Play.

Got the unit that works from my factory "G" Key". Hit lock button 3 times and thats it.

Hardest part was zip tying wires neatly. :dancin::dancin::dancin:

I just did mine last week too, same kit! Same problem, I noticed the steering column plastic was hard to get put back together. Once I got that, I figured out some random safe zip tie points.

Enjoy it the starter, I know if definitely helped out this morning, -5 without the wind when I went to work this AM.

The steps are definitely not friendly if you're in a tight spot. If you can't open the door wide enough to get full access to the step, you're kind of sliding down and destroying/bolstering the seat.

I was never any good at the shape game when I was younger so that might explain a bit.

Does the car remain on when you open the door? Or do you have to manually start the car again?

Truck keeps running when door is opened.........After getting in, turn key two positions and hit brake, that's it.

Truck will turn off after 5 minutes or so, havn't timed it yet.

Whatever you do don't run your truck without those dust covers back on. You'll have so much condensation inside your light housing it'll drive you nuts. This is the reason I would never run HID or lights that require drilling holes through the dust cover. Moisture always finds a way in. YMMV.

I was able to get them installed without modifications to the dust cover. Only issue is when the driving lights are on the high beams come one. They are sending me decoders, free of charge. So far I am happy with the light output and have experienced no other issues.

Truck runs for 20 minutes if uninterrupted. Also, if you hit the brake before turning the key it will shut off. So remember to turn the key first.

Good to know. I'm thinking about getting this unit so well. I think I will get the extended range one so I can start it with my phone though. Thanks!!

FYI, the cell phone version doesn't come with extended range fobs, just the 3x click with the OEM one and phone version. There is an annual subscription fee too for the phone (not much if I remember correctly). Just wanted to let you know incase you expected to receive an extended key fob with the phone version.

I’ll never understand Toyota and this issue. All(that I know of) push button or not stay running. Anyone know why they have it this way? Just curious what the justification is

Every vehicle with push start works this way. Very simple reason. The vehicle monitors the transponder at all times, that's how it knows if you walk away with the key. When it reads 2 transponders at the same time, it freaks out. Shutting the truck down when the door opens shuts down the remote start as well as the transponder simulator which basically tricks the truck into thinking you started it with the key. You then get in and hit start so all it reads is the egg fob that's in your pocket.

Thanks for the heads up. I think I remember reading that on thier site. I think it's like $20 a year for the cell phone interface if I remember right. I like the convenience due to where I work. Just the key would be a hassle for me.

Thanks for the info! I've wanted one for our Texas summers, but heard they shut off when you get in them and I didn't like that. No push button for me, this is definitely my next mod.

I know Toyota does this. I’ve had 2 fords and a Jeep and my dads buick. All of them push button start and they stay running when you open the door. As far as getting out of the ford, it beeps at you if you leave it run. It still stays running. Only thing that will shut it off is if you try to drive off without the fob

Hmm to be totally honest I got out of the industry in 2011 so i'm sure a lot has changed. You guys are using plug and play stuff which is something I would personally never have used. Maybe the aftermarket world is different. For about the same $ you get a MUCH better system rather than paying for the convenience of plug and play and having poor range with an OEM remote. $450 or so gets you a complete aftermarket alarm with remote start including install and interface. If you can install it yourself, about $125-$150 gets you the same system. If it's not DEI I won't use it. 10 years in the industry running a car stereo / security shop taught me that real quick.
