Completed my TRD Pro conversion with a new hood, plus added CaliRaised ditch lights
looks awesome. i hope to find a trail hood for my nautical blue some day.

Cleaned up the cargo bay and chased down all the rattling and squeaking....oh and i finally was able to con a buddy to help me install a winch, and polished out then blacked out my RCI skidplates (giving it a black chrome effect).....

It’s cake, took less than 30 minutes, that includes getting tools out. You do need a very short screwdriver to get at one of them. Otherwise ordered from Camelbacktoyota parts for about $125, I believe the part number is 8710360400, if you go to their site there will be a schematic to confirm. The bearing went on mine and it was crazy loud, I had already checked for leaves from filter. If you search this site you will find pics and more info in 5th gen section.
Of course I told my wife it was going to take two hours and poked around the garage for a bit. :reddance:
And to stay on topic, drove it to and from work and was able to turn the radio down since the blower was so much quieter!
Which steel front bumper is that? Which led? Looks great

SSO w/ high clearance wings.
LED is some 30 inch amazon special that is broken, so I tinted the lens. Its to difficult to remove once the winch is installed so I left it there. As for lighting...i have enough lighting to wake the dead, so I didn't bother fixing it.

Took off the mud guards. I hate mud guards! The rears leave a gaping opening when you take them off so I cut them down and reinstalled them. I didn't take any pics (should have). They don't completely lay flat against the wheel well lip after the trimming so I'm going to mess with them a bit. I'll take some pics tomorrow.
Update: Here's a few pics. You can see they don't lay flat. I'm going to try a few things to fix that. I'll let ya know.

Installed a hefty tube bumper but now I need to figure out how to cover this up.
I wish I didn’t cut so high but any ideas on what to cover this with ?

use what everybody else uses, weather stripping. it makes even the worse cuts look good!!!

Looking forward to seeing some pics and initial impressions of install/sound. I have been debating between a Borla and Gibson exhaust (and getting tips ceramic coated black).

i would cut the black plastic filler piece (~green line). the body colored sheet metal below will look better than that filler piece.
then cut that ugly tail of the bumper cover (~red line - enough to cover the remaining portion of filler piece)
then put a washer/screw thru the bumper cover into the remaining hole in the black plastic piece that was cut to keep it clipped in (~red circle)
edit: i think you could also cut that piece of sheet metal off that hangs below the quarter panel as im pretty sure its only purpose is to support the bumper cover that isn't there anymore

Need to upgrade my rear springs due to a saggy a$$. Any recommendations? Considering either the OME heavy load seing or Icon heavy rear spring. I have the OME BP51 suspension. Love the company but I do like Icon's no sag guarantee .

LOL man someone's triggered. Mine are cut the same way, MANY cars and trucks do not come with mud flaps at all, is what it is. Much more likely a rock will be thrown up by a rig than by anything else on the road.

Finally got over my fear of pulling interior trim bits off for fear of breaking tabs lol I restored a 1995 4runner SR5 a handful of years ago and everything panel that I pulled resulted in shattered plastic bits because it was sold old, all of the plastic dried out.
It's a small step for the 4runner but a big step for me -I removed the passenger A-pillar panel so I could tuck the dash cam wire along the top to feed down the door trim. Tucked the wire under the glove box and fed it to the lighter plug for power. It's a shitty camera so I don't want to hardwire it. I'll wait to buy a nice camera before I do that.
