Never thought I'd be camping at 9200 feet in November. It was cold but not nearly as bad as I was expecting.

On a side note, I need 4runner camping friends because even though I pack heat and bring my 2 dogs, it still gets creepy in the dark lol

Definitely feeling the effects of this Indian summer. Mammoth opener this weekend was all man-made. I'd love to do Coyote Flats one more time before the snow comes in, but don't think I'll get the chance.

Hey, thanks for this link. That guy on tacomaworld is an amazing wealth of information. I hope everyone reads his posts and understands why LED replacements in halogen headlight housings do not work properly and never will. As you said, the halogen H9 upgrade for low beams is a great bang for the buck. I also did the high beam 9011 conversion. I’m very pleased with the results.

I am ordering 9011 HIR bulbs soon myself. For fogs, I might look into the new Rigid 360 series, but they replace the entire housing and cost some bucks. Thanks for the link! Want to make sure I trim them correctly.

Yup I live in Mammoth. I couldn't believe how many people were actually going up to the mountain for the white ribbon of death lol

I've been up to coyote flats once on quads. I'd like to go up in the 4runner one of these days. It's so pretty up there and I didn't even get to explore much because it was too early and the snow hadn't melted yet.

C4 Lo-Pro Install

Installed my C4 Lo-Pro, I love the look of it! I can't wait to actually be able to use the winch on it and get it all nice and dirty. Highly recommend this as an option if you want to keep front look of the 4Runner.

I wish I lived closer! It's only a 28 hour road trip.. WORTH it though.

I used my hall pass on our last boys trip through the Inyo range recently, so I need some time to build up more brownie points. Wife loves camping but our son isn't quite old enough for off-grid trips yet.

Cleaned up the engine and battery and greased the terminals. Then started it up and the fan sprayed dirt on everything so cleaned it again.

Also ordered a new transmission "strainer" and the stuff required to drop the pan, a new OE serpentine belt just cos and a union to extend the rear diff breather.

I've only had my 2017 SR5 for 8 days now but I just installed my Dual Band ham radio transceiver (ICOM 208h). I ran power from the battery through the firewall to under the driver's seat, hooked up the mag-mount antenna then ran the coax through the tail light and velcroed the main unit to the carpet under the seat! It's all tested and working, just need to wait for the RAM mounts to come in to be considered done! It was previously installed on my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I also made my first trip to 4WP (Four Wheel Parts) and picked up a trailer hitch receiver d-ring, tire patch kit, soft shackle and tow strap! Oh and new floor mats! Now I'm waiting on my smittybilt compressor and tire deflator to arrive!

i bet, especially recovering from last season! we were there a couple weekends ago and i was surprised to see residual snow from last season.

i want to explore more of mammoth. the kids love offroading out there. we found a random spot near grant lake. there was a stream/river and a bridge and looks like you can camp there? we found a makeshift wooden toilet and other stuff.
