They might flutter a bit, but not enough you can hear it or it does damage. I pull the wires taught before cinching up the zip ties. Always get compliments on them at the drive-thru windows!

I do mine the same way and you can't hear a thing. I even run them across the cross bars.
This is last year. I'll putting them on this week.

This all entirely depends.....135k miles.
When was the last time you changed your air filter?
Have you done a coolant drain and refill? If not, you are 35k past due
Have you done the fluid in the diffs and transfer case? If not you should have done ~3 of them by now

OR, they recommended maintenance that is long overdue, if he hasn't done it.
If the diff fluid hasn't been changed in 135k miles, overdue is an understatement.
With my wife and I doing a lot of towing with our new travel trailer over the past few months and the idea of being able to toss our dirty/wet/flammable camping shit into the bed of a pickup rather than messing up the nice interior of my 4Runner, we went to go test drive a 2020 Tacoma.
All the bells and whistles are really nice and the LED headlights are thousands of times better than the 4Runner's. Back seat is way less roomy but it's just us two and a dog and since the back seat folds flat, it may be better for the pup. The new power adjustable driver seat is just as good as the 4Runner, seating-position wise.
The transmission feel is "different" but I wouldn't say it's any worse than the 4Runner, may just take a bit to get used to. Power off the line is perfectly fine. Obviously I didn't get to test actual towing, but with it being 1400+lbs higher capacity, I'm not too concerned.
The new entertainment system screen is way nicer. Camera resolution is pretty garbage but sufficient enough for any tight navigation issues.
Sent a message to the dealer that I purchased my 4Runner from since they have the exact trim level and options on their lot (top tier Off Road Premium in Voodoo Blue) to see if I can work out a deal via email before wasting my time going in. But I'd say if I can get the truck for around $40k and get $35k or so in trade on the 4Runner, it'll be a done deal.
We shall see though!

Installed an Aries brush guard today. Apparently these are quite controversial, lol. I had one on my previous vehicle and they saved me from quite a bit of front end damage from road debris.
Some people hate them and some people love them.
The biggest downside is that it killed my approach angle. If you do even mild off-roading, this thing will get stuck in the dirt quite often. The obvious answer is to just lift it, lol.

I've had the air filter done and I think that I have had the diff oil changed before, both quite a while ago though. I for sure need to change the fluids. I guess my biggest question is the Top Engine Cleaner and Injector Flush as well as the Tune up. I don't recall seeing anything in the manual about those being necessary. And I dug some more today and found some info here on the injector flush. I feel like those two items may be a service upsell to the tune of almost $500.
Have not done coolant. Diff and Transfer case has been done once if I recall correctly. Would have to look back in my records. I plan to have those done. Or maybe attempt myself.
That is kinda my thought. I get the last few items, but a couple seem fishy. And man are they proud of that timing chain cover gasket.

Plugs due at 100K however I would not go that far. Air filter every 20K-30K depending on where you live. Trans I personally go for every 50K same with the transfer case, I do the diffs every 30K and engine oil ever 5K Injector cleaner is never a bad thing but IMO top end cleaner is a gimmick. Over all, you're massively past due for normal service to the point of pretty heavy neglect.

Yea, you've said that. Appreciate the info. Oddly enough, I have always told them to do the required maintenance and they never brought any thing else up until 100k. And then this time. At 100k then guy acted like it wasn't a big deal. Yesterday the service rep acted like the world was going to end if I didn't do something tomorrow. Just trying to get it taken care of now. Think I'll pass on the Engine Cleaner for sure. I read somewhere throwing an additive in the gas tank every 3-5k is probably all that's needed and I could bypass the injector flush, but I don't know. Plan to get everything else taken care of by the dealer or another shop.

Quite honestly, your biggest mistake is ever going to the dealer to begin with. In general, dealer mechanics are clueless and the dealer is always way over priced. Find a good local shop and go there or do the work yourself. Is your timing cover gasket leaking? I assume it is otherwise they would not have said to change it but who knows. As for injector cleaner, bottle of Lucas in the tank at evert 5K mile oil change and IMO you're good to go. Top end cleaner? I would skip that if I was you. If you're at all mechanical, change the transfer case oil, gear oil, engine oil, filters, maybe plugs on your own. It's all really very easy to do and you will save a boat load of money. BTW, now would be a very good time to service the transmission also.
Looks like I won't be swapping over to a Tacoma after all.
I have no idea if it's like this nationwide, but trade-in on 4Runner's is not very good right now in the PNW.
Under $32k on the top end for a 2019 TRDOR Premium with KDSS and 6500 miles. That's basically a 20% value drop in less than a year, and not even based on original MSRP but based on my original purchase price using Costco Auto Program. Pretty sure I could have convinced a dealership last year to give me $35k for a similar 2018.
KBB also shows an equally equipped 2018 is worth $2000 more than a 2019. Don't know what's going on but the dealers ain't playing ball outside of KBB.
Just out of curiosity, I checked with Carvana and Vroom. Carvana offered just above $30k including a nearly $2000 hit "due to region". Vroom had the best offer at $33k but that's still not enough to make me financially comfortable with the swap.
Oh well. I still love the 4Runner, the Tacoma would just be a bit better in regards to towing and keeping my interior from getting messy from dirty gear.

You would have regretted that decision anyway. The 3.5 is a horrible truck engine. I kept my 2016 Tacoma for 3500 miles and traded it in, couldn't stand it.
Meh, it was fine when I test drove it.
I know some people complain about it starting to act up after a certain amount of time and not during a test drive but I don't think it'd bother me too much.
I've also read there's been some coding changes for the 2020 transmission. Who knows if that's actually a factual statement or not but the Tacoma World people that have had their 2020s for a few thousand miles seem to be liking them a lot.
