I relocated and resized my dual battery setup to an Odyssey 34-PC1500 using the Shrockworks dual battery kit after the group 31 battery setup bounced out and broke 4 bolts in Death Valley. I feel much more balanced now.

Wildpeak AT3W's seem to do really damn well in the snow while having great street manners. Added benefit that they're like 1/2 the cost of KO2s and still have aggressive aesthetics.

you can get them in a 285/70-17 E rated for 500$ mounted and balanced? Doubtful. Then again the fact i got my k02's for 1k OTD was surprising lol

Looks like I won't be swapping over to a Tacoma after all.

I have no idea if it's like this nationwide, but trade-in on 4Runner's is not very good right now in the PNW.

Under $32k on the top end for a 2019 TRDOR Premium with KDSS and 6500 miles. That's basically a 20% value drop in less than a year, and not even based on original MSRP but based on my original purchase price using Costco Auto Program. Pretty sure I could have convinced a dealership last year to give me $35k for a similar 2018.

KBB also shows an equally equipped 2018 is worth $2000 more than a 2019. Don't know what's going on but the dealers ain't playing ball outside of KBB.

Just out of curiosity, I checked with Carvana and Vroom. Carvana offered just above $30k including a nearly $2000 hit "due to region". Vroom had the best offer at $33k but that's still not enough to make me financially comfortable with the swap.

Oh well. I still love the 4Runner, the Tacoma would just be a bit better in regards to towing and keeping my interior from getting messy from dirty gear.

It only gets worse when you have done modifications. I recently went to trade in my 2016 Tacoma TRDOR that I spent about $12K in upgrades (ToyTech lift, TRD Pro wheels, bed shell, custom leather, etc) and they were only offering me high Kelley,BlueBook on the value of the truck. They state their bank won't allow them to offer much on the upgrades, only the base truck. I sold privately and gained about $6-7K over what they were offering. Luckily the person who bought the truck paid cash, because he could have had the same issues trying to get a loan for more than the KBB value of the truck. Almost never worth trading in if you can tolerate the hassle of private sale.

Eh, not quite true in all cases. In Washington, sales tax on a vehicle ends up at about 10.3% which means that, on a (typically) high resale vehicle such as the 4Runner being traded in on a similarly priced vehicle, you can save $3000-5000 in taxes by trading in which more than makes up for the hassle of trying to find a private buyer and not having to deal with all the scams and tire kickers and lowballers and ultimately not getting much better, or in some cases even worse, net difference financially.

I haven’t been over Mengel since about 2000. It was pretty rough then, but OK. Looks like that drop has deepened, even with the trail side fix. Before about 1997, lower Goler required lockers. Or gas it and hope you didn’t break anything ...

I started with a Flowmaster 40 cat back and wasn’t happy with the sound. I ended with Doug Thorley long tubes, a URD off road Y pipe, and a flowmaster 40. Be careful. Finding the perfect exhaust tone can become addicting.
