What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Was selected to be a test fitter for a new wheel company called Summit Offroad. Still like my current wheels, but damn these have me seriously debating. If anyone comes from the tuner scene, these definitely remind me of the Work Kiwami/CR Ultimate/CR Kai.

Specs are 17x9 +0. Hoping they come out with something a little more aggressive like 17x9 -38.

Ok, I'd first like to say thanks to pwflaherty87 for liking my last post. I'm just new and trying to not break the rules. I do have an idea for a thread, but that will have to wait until my build is complete ( haven't actually started yet as i've only own her for a month ).

Anyway, I'd like to lay out my plans just to get opinions from you pros.

Mine is a 2015 Trail Premium in White ( non KDSS ). Used of course, but really really clean. My build plan is as follows:

Toytec Boss 2.5 Front Aluma Series Coilovers (700 lb. front coilovers)
Toytec Boss 2.5 Aluma Series Rear Shocks
SPC Upper Control Arms.
Swaybar relocation hardware
Still on the fence about front diff drop ??????
Superflex HD rear coils
Toytec Rear Aluminum 2" Bump Stop Kit

Victory 4x4 Front Blitz winch bumper ( undecided on Steel or Aluminum )
Smittybilt (98512) X20 12,000 lb winch w/ synthetic rope
Dual Battery system under hood ( undecided on system yet )
ARB dual compressor under hood
Victory 4x4 roof rack.

RSG Rock Sliders

Victory 4x4 Rear Strike Bumper ( with tire carrier & dual jerry cans )
Rear Cargo area fridge ( with slide ) ( looking at Goose Gear setup )

Plan on keeping the stock Trail wheels and wrapping them in General Grabber X3s in 285 / 70r 17s. Some say i'll need BMC, some say I won't.

Haven't got coms and lighting nailed down yet. Kinda like Cali Raised stuff, but undecided.

Anyway, sorry for rambling. Feel free to chime in and tell me if i'm stupid. I really value the opinions of guys in this forum..

Well first off thanks for being cordial about making a new thread. But, TBH in this case it's prob cool for you to make a build thread and ask your questions there. That way you are not doubling any threads on mod choices which likely have been discussed in detail in other threads. Then all your q/a's are in one spot.

I hear spotty things about toyotech. Some love it some hate it. Seems to be some quality issues. Not saying there are just saying what I've seen over the last two ish years.

Diff drop is nearly pointless on this truck and just lowers your skid.

ARB compressors I hear are shit. Very expensive too. I have a smittybuilt 5.6something cfm compressor that is a tank. I refilling faster the airing down (seems like it at least). Wouldn't be surprised if it's faster then the arb. Think I paid 120 on sale.

Rest seems ight.

First, your build, your choice, your opinion. So take all of our opinions with a grain of salt because this is your build. That being said, here are my opinions.

You definitely have a great starting block. Really nice components. I would personally do the Front Diff Drop. There really is no harm in doing it and it's super easy to install.

I like simple Comms set up and so Im using Cobra 75WXST with Diamond K400 Mount with 2' Firestik. I really like the simplicity of this and eventually will get a HAM radio but for starters this is great.

BMC seems to be different for everyone. I had to do one, kind of, but thats mostly due to my offset. I say "kind of" because all I did was grind down the body mount. I didn't cut it off and weld the piece in there and I had plenty of clearance. I also did the fender mod where you push the fender forward and screw it back in.

I made my own Dual Battery System and love it. I had planned on using a National Luna Set Up but it was a fraction of the cost to just make my own.

would you happen to have the amazon seller info for your blackout badges? I have a 16 limited as well and can't find blackout overlay emblems anywhere.

Have you considered plastidip? I did 6 thin layers on my SR5 emblems (sides and rear) and have had 0 issues.

I've had plastidip on my 4th gen 4rims for several years now and they still look great.

Thank you for your kind words. Just didn't want to start the same ole what do i need to do thread. Was just posting my plans. I continue to search this forum when questions in my mind pop up. And for the most part, all answers can be found. And everyone has his/her opinion, which i do value greatly. This forum has been priceless in my decision making. They actually make an RPT1 "style" wheel as well. Unfortunately, like the RPT1, it's also an 18". I would probably buy them if they made it in a 17"

I am installing a light bar on my SSO Slimline bumper tomorrow. I have a question about relay mounting for y'all.

There are pre existing threaded and unthreaded holes in the engine firewall near the battery. Would y'all use rivet/blind threaded nuts in the non threaded hole or find a screw that fits the threaded hole?
