A month's worth of mods...
Thanks to Caleb and crew at C4 Fabrication for the rear bumper and the great customer service. Terrific welds... (And to Eli at Perfect Touch Powder Coat on the finish...)
Thanks to MaddoxPics for the validation on the 34" A/T3W's (285/75). Love them already.
Also installed an AFE Momentum GT to make this roll even better.
More to come when we gear up for our next trip...

Thanks! I will install the swing arm in the next month or so for a few trail trips, but unless my wife starts driving my 4Runner more, she won't like the extra steps to load/unload groceries, etc. with the swing arm. Caleb thought that the single swing arm would be easier to install/remove if we wanted to run it both ways.
Went to install my TRD exhaust, but one of the bolts for the tailpipe section must have been installed by one of the Greek Gods. Was not expecting much of a challenge since I’m only at 6k miles with no snow/salted roads yet.
Moved on and got some more work done on my bi-xenon retro. Driver side is pretty much complete. Just need to figure out what I want to do with the housing interiors. Passenger side is ready for projector housing surgery.

The C4 is by far the nicest no cut full bumper on the market.

When I did my 19, those factory bolts were about shot, wonder if they get put on in port?

Installed the C4 Tube bumper yesterday. Pretty easy install overall, just the normal time consuming stuff of bolting things up and wiring. May go back and spray paint the section of metal that's red behind the bumper black to help it blend more, but otherwise very satisfied.

How long has the retro taken you so far? I have everything I need just laying around but I’m dreading the project itself. I did a retrofit on my hatchback back in the import days and it took FOREVER. But sure was worth it.

Will your spare still fit under the rear bumper in the factory position?
Actual time spent is probably about 3-4 hours at this point. I have a one-year old running around so I don't have a chance to work on it for long periods at a time. I still need to clean all the permatex (F that stuff) from the passenger housing, cut the donor project for the bracket, install everything into the housing, confirm general beam pattern and function of hi beams (want to ensure the projector flap solenoids are good), paint housing interior, seal, install, and aim.
I'm guessing I have another 6-8 hours at my current pace.

Very thankful for it all. My wife was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer and the team at C4 accelerated delivery for us, even rushed us a couple parts. Lead time is typically twelve weeks and they beat that for us. Definitely worth the wait. Superb product and customer service.
Growing up my aunt had an Alaskan Malamute/Wolf mix that she took in (rescue from Northern B.C.). My favorite dog (definitely partly wild) ever. Would love a Malamute myself. We would need a much bigger yard!

Yes, a standard 265/70 spare fits, easily. I was also able to get my 285/70 under there - just had to make a few adjustments (not to the bumper itself). When I put on the 285/75's last week, Discount Tire put the 285/75 under there but it was up against the rear sway bar. I took it down and will likely re-fit it (and lock it up) but I will have to make a few more tweaks on the frame attachments.
Believe it or not, I need the weight back there with the overland springs.

So, I installed my nfab side steps thinking I was never going to remove them so I used red loctite. I had originally wanted tyger steps but they're not available in Canada. I put a little bit on there, but didn't slather the bolt.
But after a couple of slips and bonking my ankle and shin, I said **** it and started looking for side steps and found a set of tyger steps through amazon.ca -they were always unavailable so this was the first time I saw them for sale in about 8 months. So, I bought a set and got them covered in rhino liner.
Now, I'm curious how hard it'll be to remove the bolt with the bit of loctite I have on there. Is it possible to strip the threads given where they bolt in without applying heat? I can't use a torch because the underside is undercoated and I'll **** up the coat. Heat gun? Is that crazy?

Just ordered these panels as well. Curious, could a ram mount be placed on the panels as well? Using rivnuts or just nut and bolt? Wasnt sure if the hikes in the panels match those on a ram mount. Thanks.
