H9 retrofit in the OEM projector is SIGNIFICANT Try it, it's literally the best $14 you can spend on a mod. I was considering HID since I am not a fan of LED at all but after this I am 100% happy. It's literally like driving a different vehicle. I bought a 2nd set of the Philips H9 bulbs to swap out the OEM H9 high beam bulbs and even that as a direct swap is a big upgrade. I know the OEM projector is far from top quality but I think the horrible OEM bulb is more of a problem than the projector itself.

That’s what I have until I finish my retrofit. I also had the morimoto 2stroke led lows. Not great.

Yes, H9 is the best "bang for the buck" but a proper HID retrofit is miles beyond even that.

Also, H9 does not fit in the high beam. The stock bulb is a 9005, and an uprated 9011 bulb can be made to fit with a simple tab trim.

Yep this is correct. A proper retrofit is entirely different from the cheapo drop-in HID and LED bulbs.

Although I will agree that the H9 or H11+ bulb is the only worthwhile upgrade when staying with the original halogen projectors. I went through the "upgraded LED" phase and now I'm back to proper halogens (H9 and 9011).

Yup I completely agree. I bought my runner last year, and the previous owner put LEDs in. Finally got around to doing the H9/9011 upgrade tonight, and I can already tell a difference. I need get around to properly aiming them, but I don't have a good spot to do that at my place currently.

you're wrong. quality projector with a quality HID is 10x better than your OEM drop in halogen bulb from the 90's.

but if you've never done an actual retrofit i get that you wouldn't notice the difference, and yea its a pain in the absolute asz..

if we're talking about dumb mods can we talk about "raptor lights":reddance:

Installed RSG Sliders yesterday. They looked as good as the pictures I'd seen. Attention to detail was apparent.

Customer service was great in the ordering process, and exceptional when I provided them a bit of feedback on the installation instructions this morning.

There are a couple of minor challenges in the KDSS install. A bit more info would help the first time installer. Their response to my feedback was quick and on the money.

Yes it came with the waterproof harness. Just wired them via add a fuse into the panel. The lightbar is a 30” that I got from amazon years back. I’m sure there are better ones now.

Drawers in and Tidy!

Some tidying up of the rear drawers and getting the fridge in and secure. TrekBox make some amazing tie down straps! Also the ARB Rear Diff Breather is finally done and the Slee Sliders are on and properly bolted.

Made a table insert for the SnowPeak IGT to save having to buy the $100 bamboo inserts!

As an SR5 owner, the A-Trac has served me really well. Doesn't sound good sometimes but it freaking works!
