Picked up a Yakima Skybox 16 over the weekend. I can't wait to pack it full of camping gear and get some use out of it.
I found out my hitch cap fell off at the car wash
Lol. I’m on my second one as well. First fell victim to the car wash just like yours.
My dealer put their branded hitch cover and a branded license plate frame on my 5th gen when I bought it. I told them I would leave them on there for some free advertising if they would drop the “documentation fees”. I’m sure you can guess their response.
Both went in the trash as soon as I got home.
That's the first thing to do when getting home...trash them. I'm not driving around giving them free advertising. What really gets me is the dealer decals on the back of a car/truck. They have absolutely no business being back there. The only car I ever bought brand new, for my wife, I made sure the dealer knew to not put one on the car...or the sale would be lost.
Let's try this again **

Snagged one of these rotopax strap tire mounts for a steal. Gonna come in handy for the summer expeditions.

Thats awesome.. no issues with rangers ?
I could be wrong, but as far as I know, BLM land is still open for dispersed camping. We made sure to avoid any state parks or state-owned land in general because those are closed.
We were actually looking at Big Bear for our trip, but figured it'd be pretty hard to find a spot remote enough to avoid harassment from rangers.
Went out exploring Big Bear, very nice dayKids were happy to be out of the house
