A real, properly implemented retrofit is a thing to behold. I'm also curious to see how the new factory LED lights perform. From what I understand (and depending on the trim) they either use a single LED projector low beam with the same 9005 halogen high beam/DRL, or a dual LED projector for lows and highs. The halogen DRL is retained but does not go "high".

Thanks. Uniden CMX 760. Great form factor as a tiny unit. All controls are on the handset.

In for details like where the main unit is and how you mounted the antenna. I've been wanting to install a cb radio but haven't figured out a way that looks as clean as this.

This past week got the Diode Dynamics SS3 Fog lights installed (Pro - Yellow)
Amazing upgrade, should of done this sooner!

Quick test fit found that if you angle the light in the bracket all the way down and pull back just about a 1/3 in the bracket (front to back) you are dead on to stock alignment - no shining into oncoming traffic.

That cover on the passengers side was a PITA! After a few deep breaths I found it was super simple to reinstall by pushing in the sides first then pulling the top back slightly and pushing down on the top tab, then pushing it forward so that tab slid in. Funny the manual calls this thing a Bumper Reinforcement Stopper.

Brakes and oil change done yesterday at 86,526 miles. Wife said the rear brakes were grinding, looking at them, I bet they were! Fronts were low, but ready. Rears were overdue.

Definitely worth it! I was really impressed with the quality of the light and output.

I watched and followed a few install videos and write ups, turning the wheel in on each respective side, removing the 3 fender liner screws along with the two on the bottom, I found it also helped to remove the very top forward liner screw. Pull the liner back and you'll have good access. I used a bungee cord on the passengers side, hooked into the vents to the wheel to hold it back.

Removing, the near side tab of that shield was relatively easy to push in with a small screw driver then I had to feel around the corner for the other side, once that was loose it was just messing with that top tab to pull it off.

Nothing to dread!... good luck!

Good tip... Mine is still sitting on my workbench. I'll reinstall it one of these days :couch2:

And the SS3s are kickass... trying to resist spending the coin on the new SS3 Max!

I finally went to 33 inch tires! After a great couple of years with the General Grabber at2 in stock size, I decided to sell them with life left to help fund a new set. I never realized the 4runner is specd for passenger tires!

I chose the Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx in 255/80 17, they only came in E load. I was worried about the heavier weight and the potential harshness but with my lift, sliders and arb bumper I went for it.

So far they actually ride great. Much better in fact. I can't feel too much of a slow down due to the extra tire weight and I actually feel like the truck is smoother over bumps in the road, it feels much more stable of a ride all around. Maybe I'm crazy...

Just got the same tires but in a different size.. 285/70/17.
Second post I have seen today in the 255/80 size. Whats the advantage to that size vs 285's?
