How's the insurance on those things over there? I used to live in Munich for a number of years and was always curious what it'd involve to own one over in the D.

That cover on the passengers side was a PITA! After a few deep breaths I found it was super simple to reinstall by pushing in the sides first then pulling the top back slightly and pushing down on the top tab, then pushing it forward so that tab slid in. Funny the manual calls this thing a Bumper Reinforcement Stopper.

Good tip on the re-install. I finally got it installed by working from underneath and with the assistance of a flat blade screwdriver, getting that top tab to tuck into its slot. I had mangled the tabs a little during the removal process and it rattled, so I spot tacked it with glue to secure it.

This past week got the Diode Dynamics SS3 Fog lights installed (Pro - Yellow)
Amazing upgrade, should of done this sooner!

Quick test fit found that if you angle the light in the bracket all the way down and pull back just about a 1/3 in the bracket (front to back) you are dead on to stock alignment - no shining into oncoming traffic.

Much respect to your patience. I was very close to using a sawzall on it hahah. Eventually got it off but never reinstalled it. Enjoy the lights!

Went exploring around the Tri-Border near St. George. Rock slide made the trail a bit off cambered.

Not the most comfortable position to be in when there is a huge boulder to the left! (not pictured)

KDSS definitely seemed useful here lol

Second post I have seen today in the 255/80 size. Whats the advantage to that size vs 285's?

I'm not sure of a true really measurable advantage but I like the tall skinny look, tire weight is usually less than wider tires. As far as the advantage, I've read a lot about skinnier tires having better performance off road. Given the weight of a vehicle, more pressure exerted on the tread versus a wider tire that spreads the weight out. Equals more grip. And airing down allows a skinny tire to become wider and fatter for sand and stuff. Maybe the differences are all minimal in reality, I'll test them out in the same terrain I've driven my old tires in.

I went 255 for the 33in size, the look and if I get better performance because they're skinny... Win win win!

255's tend to get better gas mileage over 275/285. 255's tend to get better traction when driving in the snow(on the street) because they will dig down to the road to get traction as opposed to floating on top of the snow. Think about how often the military runs tall skinnies on a lot of their vehicles. If you do a lot of sand/deep mud 255's won't be the best since they don't float as well. But I am still getting 20-21mpg highway with 255's and a 3" lift.

Off camber situations is really where kdss shines offroad. Body just stays level.
